QUOTE A DAY - Aug. 9, 2011

Greetings fellow quote lovers:

Happy Tuesday friends. Several of you wrote to question the source of the Goethe quote:

Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.
--Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

While it bears a definite resemblance to the Daniel Burnham quote (see 1st quote in today's issue), they are in fact two separate quotations.

One last note. We have NEVER made up a quote to further a political POV. That is not what we are about. Yes, we stand 100% against Zionist ideology that is a race-based political philosophy but we would never put our thumb on the scale to lie to anyone. The fact that Zionist readers objected so vociferously is an indication that they have no intellectual clue as to the basic tenets of what they hold dear.

Hope you enjoy today's offerings.

Best,
JA

Make no little plans. They have no magic to stir men's blood and probably themselves will not be realized. Make big plans; aim high in hope and work, remembering that a noble, logical diagram once recorded will never die, but long after we are gone will be a living thing, asserting itself with ever-growing insistency. Remember that our sons and grandsons are going to do things that would stagger us. Let your watchword be order and your beacon beauty. Think big.
Daniel Burnham, Chicago architect. (1846-1912)

The great are only great because we are on our knees. --JamesConnolly - Irish republican executed by a British firing squad because of his leadership role in the Easter Rising of 1916.

Treat a man as he is, he will remain so. Treat a man the way he can be and ought to be, and he will become as he can be and should be.
--Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

All the perplexities, confusion, and distress in America arise, not from the defects in the Constitution or confederation, not from want of honor or virtue, so much as from downright ignorance of the nature of coin, credit and circulation.

The spirit of resistance to government is so valuable on certain occasions that I wish it to be always kept alive. It will often be exercised when wrong, but better so than not to be exercised at all.
--Thomas Jefferson
