'Ghostbusters: Afterlife' clip shows Paul Rudd meet the Mini-Pufts
Sony Pictures Entertainment is giving a glimpse of the new film Ghostbusters: Afterlife.
The studio shared a clip Wednesday from the upcoming supernatural comedy drama featuring Paul Rudd as Mr. Grooberson, a teacher familiar with the Ghostbusters legacy.
The preview shows Mr. Grooberson (Rudd) encounter the Mini-Pufts, small versions of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. The Mini-Pufts are seen causing mayhem in a grocery store.
Sony released a trailer for the film in December that shows a small town being taken over by supernatural forces.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is a sequel to Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989), which star Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson. It is the fourth movie in the franchise, which also includes the 2016 reboot Ghostbusters.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife takes place 30 years after Ghostbusters II. The film follows a single mom, Callie (Carrie Coon) and her two children (Mckenna Grace, Finn Wolfhard) as they move to a small town and discover their family's link to the original Ghostbusters.
Murray, Aykroyd, Hudson and Sigourney Weaver will reprise their roles as Dr. Peter Venkman, Dr. Raymond "Ray" Stantz, Dr. Winston Zeddemore and Dana Barrett. Ramis died at age 69 in 2014.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife is directed by Jason Reitman, the son of Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II director Ivan Reitman. The movie opens in theaters Nov. 11.
Gaten Matarazzo on 'Stranger Things' S4: 'They're going for it this year'
Gaten Matarazzo discussed the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things and his hidden camera series Prank Encounters while appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Fallon, on Tuesday, asked the actor about returning to film Stranger Things Season 4 after production was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic and what fans can expect when the series returns to Netflix.
"You told me that this season, that you know of, that you've shot so far, you told me it might be the scariest one," Fallon said.
"That's the one thing that I've noticed. I was reading it, I'm like, 'They're going for it this year. That's pretty cool,'" Matarazzo replied.
Stranger Things Season 4 does not have a release date. A teaser for the new season, released in February 2020, showed that David Harbour's Police Chief Jim Hopper is still alive.
Prank Encounters recently returned to Netflix with its second season. The hidden camera series attempts to scare two strangers who think they are starting their first day of new job by using elaborate pranks that involve haunted mansions and other horror elements.
"We get two people. We see how they interact with each other while the actors around them are as useless as possible to a really scary situation. We like to see if they step up and try to be leaders and usually they do, which is really cool. And I think it says something," Matarazzo said.
Fallon also launched his Twitch channel and played Among Us with Matarazzo, his Stranger Things co-star Noah Schnapp, Questlove, Tariq Trotter and Kirk Douglas of The Roots and streamers Valkyrae, Sykkuno, Victoria Tran and Corpse Husband.
The stream helped to raise donations for Feeding America. Fallon was the first player eliminated, while Questlove and Tran were the first two imposters.

Nintendo announces battle royale title 'Pac-Man 99' for Switch
Nintendo has announced a new battle royale title for Nintendo Switch Online members based on Pac-Man titled Pac-Man 99.
Pac-Man 99 will be exclusively available to all Nintendo Switch Online members for free starting on Wednesday at 9 p.m. EST.
The game, similar to the previously released Tetris 99, has players competing to be the last Pac-Man standing out of 99 total players.
Players will navigate the classic Pac-Man maze, trying to avoid and eat ghosts. Any ghosts that are defeated will be sent over to attack other opponents in the form of a Jammer Pac-Man. Players who run into a Jammer Pac-Man will be slowed down, leaving them more open to ghosts and elimination.
The Pac-Man maze will also have ghost trains, allowing players to eat multiple ghosts at the same time. Power-ups are also available such as the ability to move faster.
Players can purchase custom themes based on other classic Namco titles such as Galaga, Dig Dug and more.
Nintendo Switch Online costs $20 for one year and allows Switch owners to play games online and have access to classic Super NES games.
