Here's a story for the "Say What?!" file: The 94th annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be held virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Monday.

De Blasio said that a live parade will occur this year, but that a re-imagined parade will be created to watch on television and online.

"[Macy's is] reinventing the event for this moment in history. And you will be able to feel the spirit and the joy of that day," de Blasio said.

The TV broadcast-only parade will be filmed over two days and have about 25 percent of the usual number of participants, Macy's said Monday.

"Following the success of this summer's re-imagined Macy's 4th of July Fireworks show, the Macy's team meticulously reviewed every area of the Thanksgiving Day playbook to put in place enhanced health and safety practices that align with CDC guidelines, as well as local and state government protocols," Macy's said.

Instead of the parade's usual 2 1/2-mile route, the floats, balloons and musicians will stay on the streets surrounding Herald Square, the department store.

Signature giant helium balloons will be affixed to special trucks for the event.

High school marching band participants must be at least 18 years old to participate, the parade organizers said. Participants will wear masks and observe social distancing.

The 94th Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade will be broadcast on NBC on Nov. 26 from 9 a.m. to noon EST.

'The Mandalorian' embarks on a new journey in Season 2 trailer

Pedro Pascal's bounty hunter is trying to reunite The Child with its own kind in the first trailer for Season 2 of The Mandalorian.

The Mandalorian (Pascal) travels across the galaxy with The Child -- also referred to a Baby Yoda by fans -- in search of the infant's home. The Mandalorian spent the first season fighting to protect The Child from the last remnants of the fallen Galactic Empire.

The bounty hunter runs into a pair of X-Wing pilots and gets into a fight while attending an alien wrestling match.

"Wherever I go, he goes," The Mandalorian says in regards to The Child.

The Mandalorian Season 2 will premiere Oct. 30 on Disney+. Gina Carano, Carl Weathers and Giancarlo Esposito also star.

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, Bryce Dallas Howard, Rick Famuyiwa, Weathers, Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez are serving as directors for Season 2 of the Star Wars series.

Favreau, Filoni Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson serve as executive producers with Karen Gilchrist as a executive producer.

Kelly Clarkson reflects on divorce: 'It's so hard on everyone'

Kelly Clarkson says her divorce has been "so hard" on everyone involved.

The 38-year-old singer and television personality discussed her "difficult" divorce from Brandon Blackstock during Monday's episode of Today.

Clarkson filed for divorce from Blackstock in June after nearly seven years of marriage. She said one reason divorce can be difficult is because few people expect it to happen.

"You see yourself growing old with someone, and then life has a different path," the star said. "It's so hard on everyone."

Clarkson said she's been open about her divorce to assure others they are not alone but is also careful to protect her kids with Blackstock, daughter River, 6, and son Remy, 4. Blackstock also has two children, Savannah and Seth, from his previous marriage.

"That's a lot of hearts involved, and you just have to be really careful," Clarkson said. "It's just a tricky thing to navigate. It's hard on everyone involved. Anybody that's been through it, it's just a really, really hard, difficult thing."

"We're in the public eye, so that's hard, too. To try to be truthful but also keep your privacy, not just for myself but for others," she added.

Clarkson said she's found comfort in friends and music as she weathers the "rollercoaster of emotions" of her divorce, the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and other recent events.

"I'm lucky I have an outlet. I have music, the greatest therapist in the world. That's been really helpful," she said.

Clarkson will return as a coach in The Voice Season 19. She will host the Billboard Music Awards for a third time in October.

HBO Max renews 'Doom Patrol' for Season 3

HBO Max announced Saturday it has renewed the comic-book adaptation Doom Patrol for a third season.

"On behalf of the wonderful cast, writers and crew, we are thrilled and grateful for the opportunity to return to Doom Manor. And we are especially thankful for our partners at Berlanti Productions, Warner Bros. Television, DC Universe and, of course, HBO Max," executive producer Jeremy Carver said in a statement.

The superhero series stars Brendan Fraser, Matt Bomer, Diane Guerrero, April Bowlby and Joivan Wade.

'The Dr. Oz Show' renewed for Season 13 and 14

The Dr. Oz Show has been renewed for Season 13 and 14, Fox Station Group has announced.

The daytime talk show will remain on the air throughout the 2022-2023 season.

"I'm honored to have our long-term partners continue to support our mission to keep America healthy while providing context and analysis of complicated information in this unprecedented time," Dr. Oz said in a statement.

"Fox Television stations renewing The Dr. Oz Show for Seasons 13 and 14 underscores the on-going value the show delivers for local broadcast stations. Dr. Oz is the hardest working talent in daytime television," John Weiser, president of first run television at Sony Pictures Television said in a statement.

The renewal comes as Season 12 of The Dr. Oz Show is set to premiere on Monday. The new season will introduce an all-new studio.

Dr. Oz will be tackling the COVID-19 pandemic in the new season and speaking with members of the White House Coronavirus Task Force, along with stars Paris Hilton, Tyra Banks, Dr. Pimple Popper, Tia Mowry, Dog the Bounty Hunter, Savannah Guthrie and Sterling K. Brown.
