*-- Rep. Mark Sanford says no hard feelings against House Republicans --*
WASHINGTON - Newly elected U.S. Rep. Mark Sanford, R-S.C., said Sunday he looks forward to working with Republicans even after they pulled funding from his campaign.

Sanford violated a divorce agreement with ex-wife Jenny Sanford in February when he entered her home to watch part of the Super Bowl with their youngest son while she wasn't there.

She filed a trespassing complaint against Sanford, whom she divorced after it was revealed in 2009 that he left South Carolina to fly to Argentina to meet his mistress, now his fiancee, even though his office said he was elsewhere.

The House Republican Campaign Committee pulled its financial support from Sanford's special election campaign to replace Tim Scott, who was appointed to fill the U.S. Senate term of Jim DeMint, who resigned to lead the Heritage Foundation think tank.

Now that's he's won the election, Sanford said he looks forward to working with the House Republicans, despite the withdrawal of support.

"You know, I think you look at the competition of power in Washington, D.C., right now, with the Senate and the executive branch and the Congress. Congress is a holdout and I would very much look forward to working with Republicans as they try to advance conservative ideas that I think are important and reflective where taxpayers are coming from across this country," he said during an appearance on Fox News' "Sunday."

He said that while he's Republican, he considers himself to have an independent streak.
