Greetings fellow Bizarros:

This is the kind of thing you would expect to see on a Saturday morning cartoon, not on the streets of a major metropolitan center. Although we are talking Texas so I guess anything goes.

Investigators say a 45-year-old woman was hit by a car last Sunday night while she was carrying her grandson across an intersection in San Antonio.

Police said the 2-year-old being carried by the woman flew out of her arms, over the hood of the car and rolled into the vehicle's sunroof, landing inside the vehicle without serious injury.

The woman was thrown to the ground by the impact and the young boy was thrown toward the windshield of the car, which he rolled up and before landing inside the sunroof, police said.

The toddler suffered only minor injuries and police said his grandmother was taken to University Hospital in critical condition but was expected to make a full recovery.

Police said the incident was being treated as an accident and the driver has not been charged with a violation.

Bizarrely,
Lewis

*-- Divorced groom sues to recreate wedding --*

NEW YORK - A New York man suing the studio that photographed his wedding said he is dissatisfied and wants to recreate the event, despite the fact that he is now divorced. Todd Remis, who is suing H & H Photographers in State Supreme Court, said he wants the $4,100 he paid the studio for photographing his 2003 wedding refunded and an additional $48,000 to fly friends and relatives to the city and recreate the event for another photographer to document, The New York Times reported Thursday. Remis, who filed his lawsuit in 2009, one year after separating from wife Milena Grzibovska and a year before their divorce was finalized, said the photographers failed to take any pictures of the couple's first dance and the bouquet toss. He said the pictures that were taken "unacceptable as to color, lighting, poses, (and) positioning." H & H owners Curt Fried, 87, and his son, Dan, said they have already spent $50,000 in legal fees. Dan Fried called the case "an abuse of the legal system."

*-- Street dancer mistaken for mime --*

BUFFALO GROVE, Ill. - An Illinois man who dressed up in tribute to his favorite hip-hop dance crew was asked to stop by police who said some "find mimes disconcerting." Sorin Dumitru, 19, who is from Romania and lives in Buffalo Grove, said he donned white gloves and a white mask for his street dancing Tuesday in tribute to San Diego dance group Jabbawockeez, which won the first season of "America's Best Dance Crew" in 2008, the Chicago Tribune reported Thursday. Police arrived at about 5:30 p.m. and told him they had been called by concerned residents who were not used to seeing street dancers in the residential area. Some of the callers had mistaken him for a mime due to his garb and officers said "some residents apparently find mimes disconcerting." "He could have stayed, but more than likely we would have been deluged with phone calls," Cmdr. Jim Newton said. "We didn't force him to leave." Dumitru said he agreed to stop his performance, but he is still planning to dance on the sidewalks provided he can get out earlier in the day. "I enjoy myself and the people who walk around and see me enjoy it," he said. "I like dancing very much and it was relaxing time after work."

Hi Lewis, Re: the story "Artist gives birth in gallery" If Ms. Kotak is really a conceptual artist, she shouldn't have been giving birth in the gallery. That's procreational art. She should nave been demonstrating what she and her husband were doing 9 months before. Cheers, Carolyn King
[They already have that kind of art. It's called porn.]

This year the VH1-classic rock cable channel has also declared 11/11/11 to be National Metal day! (a reference to Christopher "Nigel Tufnel" Guest's scene in THIS IS SPINAL TAP where he explains that his custom made amplifier goes up to level 11 on volume instead of just 10.) --Dan

Lewis, I think John is wrong criticizing your fine efforts. Unless you have somehow figured out how to lock John's computer to automatically open Bizarre News he does not have to read it. -Michael
[That technology is still proprietary. How do you know about it? Our lawyers will be in contact with you.]

Lewis, regarding the 92-year-old denied liquor because she did not have proof of age: this is just one more example of our "zero tolerance" black-and-white world. Like the kid who was suspended because his mother had packed a plastic knife in his lunch. -janet
[Or the girl who was suspended for taking a Midol at school.]

It IS ridiculous to refuse to sell alcohol to a 92 year old woman because she doesn't have her ID with her, but probably not the clerk's fault. I've worked in a number of different states in my 30 years as a bouncer/doorman and some places have mighty strict laws regarding such things. I card EVERY-one coming in to my bar, if the Liquor Board decides to drop by and catches anyone inside WITHOUT their ID I'm going to catch a $500 fine.
