Bizarre News - February 26, 2014

Greetings fellow Bizarros:

Police say two men have been arrested after a central New York farmer discovered that his cows were being sexually abused.

A farmer in Herkimer, near Utica, noticed his cows appeared anxious and failed to produce milk. He installed video surveillance equipment to try to determine why.

The farmer contacted state police after watching the footage and discovering the animals were being abused.

Police said two men in their 30s were arrested after one agreed to videotape the other attempting sexual contact with several cows. One man didn't immediately return a phone message left at his home in Ilion. Police said the other man has no known address.

Both were arrested on misdemeanor sexual misconduct charges and released with appearance tickets.

Bizarrely,
Lewis

* Pocket Bible credited with saving Dayton bus driver's life *

DAYTON, Ohio - A Dayton, Ohio, bus driver survived a close-range shooting Monday when a pocket version of the Bible he was carrying intercepted two bullets, police said. RTA driver Rickey Wagoner, 49, of Trotwood was shot twice in the chest and once in the right leg by one of three men who assaulted him while he was checking a mechanical problem with his bus about 5:20 a.m., the Dayton Daily News reported. Wagoner's son Rickey Jr. posted on Facebook, "Dad is doing good now and my family and I are just lucky he is still alive." Dayton police Sgt. Michael Pauley credited what was later described as a modern translation of the Bible called "The Message" with preventing the shooting from being fatal. "The two bullets were stopped by the New Testament book in his [shirt] pocket," Pauley said. "There was obviously some kind of intervention involved in this incident, because he probably should not be here." While investigators weren't ready to call the shooting gang-related, Wagoner told police one of the three young men who accosted him told another to kill him "if you want to be all the way in the club." Wagoner told an emergency dispatcher he had been shot in the leg and "my chest feels like I've been hit with a sledgehammer." Wagoner later told police in his statement after the first two shots to his chest he wrestled the gun from the assailant but it fired again, hitting him in the leg. Wagoner said another of the men stabbed him in the left arm with a knife, but he pulled out a pen from his pocket and stabbed that man in the leg with it. They ran away at that point and Wagoner said he used the gun they left behind to shoot at them. "Amazingly, his injuries are not life threatening," Pauley said. "He basically said he fought for his life."

* Man went to ex's, painted penis on own artwork *

NEW YORK - A New York real estate boss and amateur painter allegedly went to his ex-girlfriend's apartment and drew penises on his own artwork. Sean Ludwick, 41, managing partner at Black House Development, allegedly used a key given to him by ex-girlfriend Lana Trevisan, 40, while they were still together to enter her apartment while drunk Feb. 17, the New York Post reported Tuesday. Ludwick allegedly painted penises on his own artwork at Trevisan's apartment and dumped a large amount of paint on the floor. He allegedly used a knife to etch the words "studio art" on two stools. "I became unhappy when I found out she was having an affair," Ludwick said prior to a Monday appearance in Manhattan Criminal Court. "I augmented my work to reflect my emotions at that moment." Ludwick allegedly used Trevisan's computer to send lewd emails to executives at the woman's company, alleging she "has engaged in relationships with married men, including her current supervisor," the criminal complaint states. Ludwick is charged with computer trespassing, aggravated harassment, criminal mischief, stalking and impersonation.

New York is a crazy city that has restaurants for dogs and now thay want to charge $8 per day for use of public restrooms. Hey! My city (Chicago) is far from perfect but at least our public restrooms are free, we don't take our dogs out for fine dining and Chicagoans too busy to walk the dog don't hire dog walkers. They have cats.
[When was the last time you were in a Chicago public restroom? In many cases I think you'd be better off squatting behind a dumpster.]

I hope Jody read the first article about the sword vs the gun. That's why there are responsible, law-abiding citizens carrying guns and no one ever knows. If you see someone flashing a gun to be macho or as a joke or under the influence. Report them. "Man uses gun to protect himself and others" makes minimal news. "Armed robber at local store" makes the news for a week. Why? And our freedom of the press has dropped several knotches compared globally.
[Guns are too dangerous. Instead, everyone should be trained in hand-to-hand sword disarming techniques.]

Maybe if a person has to be told to NOT spank a bear, college isn't the right place for them.
[Are you kidding? Where else are young adults going to learn not to spank bears?]

Dear Lewis: I live in Texas - tho far south of Irving - and I must say that the terrier, Dylan Westie, is probably far more qualified and intelligent than a great many of our professional politicians throughout the state. -Faye in San Antonio TX
[I'm not sure which this is a criticism of; the terrier or the politicians.]
