Greetings fellow Bizarros:

I have always been a strong proponent of education. I believe that education can solve (or at least go a long way toward solving) a lot of societal problems like teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases, crime and poverty. A high school education would have also saved this overly entrepreneurial man.

The body of a man has been found on Detroit's east side, and police said they believe he died in the midst of trying to steal valuable metal.

Police said the man appears to have been trying to steal copper from a power line when he was electrocuted and fell to the ground. Police said they're not sure when the man died but that a neighborhood businessman reported the body Monday afternoon.

Now compare that with the story of an injured dog in New Mexico who went to a hospital for treatment.

When the automatic doors at San Juan Regional Medical Center's emergency room slid open Saturday night, the pooch walked in, blood on his nose and paw, and a puncture hole in one leg.

Animal control officer Robin Loev responded to a call from the hospital and suspects the puncture wound was from the bite of another dog.

Loev says the German shepherd mix appeared to be intelligent and calm - and knew enough to go to the right place.

And he probably knows not to chew on power lines, too.

Bizarrely,
Lewis

+-- Piercing record holder gets married --+

EDINBURGH, Scotland - A Scottish world record holder with nearly 7,000 piercings, including 192 on her face, has married a man with no piercings or tattoos. Elaine Davidson, 46, married Douglas Watson, who is in his 60s, in a Wednesday ceremony at the central Register Office in Edinburgh, The Daily Telegraph reported Thursday. "Elaine looked astonishing," Watson said after the wedding. "People see the piercings but I see the amazing personality underneath. We have known each other for a long time... I am always amazed by the effect her piercings have on people. She's an incredible woman. People think its unconventional but that is the woman she is and people love her for it." Davidson was first certified as a Guinness World Record holder in 2000, when she had only 462 piercings. That number has since grown to 6,925, she said.

+-- Man blames violence on wolf scratch --+

AMHERST, Ohio - Authorities in Ohio said a man arrested after behaving violently and growling at sheriff's deputies blamed his actions on a scratch from a wolf. Lorain County sheriff's deputies said Thomas Stroup, 20, was arrested at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday after they received a call of a "very violent" male attacking people at the Timber Ridge Campground in Amherst, The Chronicle-Telegram, Elyria, Ohio. Deputies said a friend of Stroup who was at the scene told them the suspect had consumed a large amount of alcohol and fought with other campers, who left before deputies arrived. Stroup was found sleeping under a trailer and growled at the deputies before being placed under arrest. The deputies said Stroup apologized for his behavior while en route to the Lorain County Jail and told them he had consumed too much vodka and his violent behavior was the result of a wolf scratch that drives him to act violently during the full moon. Stroup was charged with underage consumption.

with gentic modfied bacteria we can manufcture, not drill for, oil-according to "new scientist".
[I read something similar in our own Living Green, but it was algae, not bacteria. And I'm sure the technology isn't quite commercially available yet...or it would be commercially available...if that makes sense.]

This is interesting! If I understand well, it means that once the "peak oil crisis" is on, US will have plenty of oil to rule the world.
[I doubt anybody is thinking that far ahead. If there is an ocean of oil underneath the coast of Alaska that is being hidden by forces in the government it is because there is money to be made from hiding it, not because of any long term strategy to safeguard the future security of the U.S.]

Wow, several comments on your opening paragraph here. First of all, gas doesn't have to be $4.25/gal. The price is artificially induced. That is why gas companies can afford to give away billions of dollars in bonuses. Second, I remember when those fields were blocked and it was claimed we can't use them, they are now a wild life refuge, etc., etc., etc. Lastly, the money used to pay our debt isn't OUR money. The fed isn't part of the US gov and they create and distribute what money we use. In effect, they were paying the fed to fund us our own money. That is why the transactions were supposed to be in US dollars and nothing else.

Hey Lewis! Here's another book for you to peruse on the john. "Black Gold, Strangle Hold" by Dr. Jerome R. Corsi Ph.D and Craig R. Smith. The authors, Dr. Corsi and Mr. Smith, clame that the earth creates oil and it well never run out as long as the earths core remains hot and molten. -H.R.
[You're talking about the abiotic oil theory. Unfortunately that is not a widely accepted theory (it would be nice, wouldn't it?). There is even microscopic evidence of the organisms from which the oil was formed in the oil itself!
Capped wells may appear to refill after a few years, but they are not regenerating. It is simply an effect of oil slowly migrating through pore spaces from areas of high pressure to the low-pressure area of the drill hole.
