Greetings fellow Bizarros:

Some might say that I'm a bit paranoid, but it's only because every one is out to get me. I don't really trust technology even though I enjoy the conveniences that it offers. One of the big things that I fear is... identity theft.

With technology changing so rapidly with every passing day we often neglect the safety issues that can become dreadfully obvious. Did you know that thieves can now easily access all of your private information without even touching you! And you won't believe how they do it. It sounds like something out of a bad '50s Sci-Fi movie, but it's true! Get this...

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is a technology that uses communication via electromagnet waves to exchange data between a terminal and an electronic tag attached to an object for the purpose of identification and tracking. They allow us to simply "wave" our credit cards or driver's license in front of a scanner instead of having to "swipe" our cards through a magnetic strip reader.

Thieves can easily purchase RFID scanners online and even build their very own and be ready to steal your information right through your purse or wallet! Now, thankfully, someone has came up with a better, more convenient way to protect my credit card and driver's license. The SafeT Sleeves will help protect you from identity theft by preventing communication with a RFID reader while the card is in its sleeve.

OCALA, Fla. - The owners of a Florida ice cream shop said they want to assure locals their white-hooded ice cream cone mascot is in no way associated with the Ku Klux Klan. Jose Cantres, co-owner of Ice Cream Family Corner and Sandwiches in Ocala, said he and other workers have heard through word of mouth and on Facebook that some passersby believe their costumed mascot, a vanilla ice cream cone, resembles a KKK member in the group's signature robes, the Ocala Star-Banner reported Tuesday. "One (customer) told me, 'I had to think twice before coming in here because I thought it was KKK,'" manager Liza Diaz said. Diaz, who moved to Florida from Puerto Rico, said she had never heard of the KKK until the controversy at the 2-month-old business began. "We're a friendly environment, family-oriented," Diaz said. "We're not (racist). We're very friendly, very religious."

NAPOLEONVILLE, La. - A Louisiana woman who has been growing her hair out for 12 years was awarded the Guinness World Record for the world's largest afro. Aevin Dugas of Napoleonville said she applied for the Guinness certification when a friend saw a picture of her afro picked out to its largest point, with a circumference of 4-foot-4, on Facebook and she soon heard back from the record keeping organization, WGNO-TV, New Orleans, reported Tuesday. "The whole Guinness thing is just a whole bunch of people, different people from all over the world, everywhere. To be included -- that is a big honor," she said. Dugas said she loves her long hair, but it occasionally gets her into trouble. "Sometimes it gets in the way. Once I slammed it in a car door," she said.

Lewis, It isn't just Hoosiers who have this problem. I moved into a rental property that( much to my concern) had been a "place of interest" to the police. It seemed like a nice place in a good neighborhood. But on night they came pounding on my door and forcefully searched my house for a meth lab. It was horrifying and they even threatened to shoot my dog who was old enough to be missing most of her teeth. When I called a complaint I was told that I had no recourse and I should be GRATEFUL that they took their jobs seriously. I am still seething. I know they had no probable cause as I haven't ever gotten so much as a parking ticket or been late with my taxes. That's when I knew that the freedom ticket was cashed. - Mae from Missouri

I find it odd when people compare drug charges to murder. The problem is always the time served for murder is wrong. For murderers the sentence should always be the rest of their life in jail. How much time did the victim lose? - John from Ontario

Hi Lewis, Talking about maggots and their many uses, there is also a kind of larva that is used by archeologists to clean the dark discoloration off of old bones - Andrew
