BIRTH DATE: May 7, 1950, Bridge City, Texas

CLAIM TO FAME: He is known for his roles in Police Academy 4: Citizens on Patrol, Raising Arizona, Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, The Golden Child, Liar Liar, Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult, Fletch Lives, and Ernest Goes to Jail.

FAMILY LIFE: He is married to his second wife Sharon Hodge, a disc jockey. He has two children from his first marriage.

INFO: Cobb has been into extreme sports since high school, where he excelled in football and martial arts. He launched a professional boxing career and soon established himself as one of the top heavyweight contenders in the world.

He caught the attention of Hollywood and was chosen to play Jon Voight's opponent in the remake of The Champ (1979). Cobb ended up having a successful acting career, appearing in a number of well-received films. In the early 1990s, he relaunched his boxing career and stretched his winning streak to 20 straight.

TRIVIA: Attended Abilene High School, and later Abilene Christian University.

Maintained a friendship with Philadelphia Daily News columnist Pete Dexter, who frequently commented on boxing.

WHERE IS HE NOW: In January 2008 at age 57, Cobb graduated magna cum laude from Temple University with a bachelor's degree in sport and recreation management.
