Hello Neighbor!
Ever notice how the drawers holding your clothes can sometimes smell a bit musty? You can buy sachets for this but there is a much easier and less expensive way!
My mom had a trick that I use to this day. Tuck an unwrapped bar of soap, wrapped loosely in an old handkerchief, into the back corner, and within a day your drawer will smell fresh. Below is how I do mine.

Tuck A Bar Of Soap In Your Drawer To Keep Clothes Smelling Fresh
An unwrapped bar of soap slowly releases its scent into the air around it, which makes it a cheap, long-lasting stand-in for a store bought sachet in any drawer or closet.
How To Do It
- Unwrap a bar of soap you like the scent of, a plain, inexpensive bar works fine.
- Wrap it loosely in a thin cloth, an old handkerchief, or a piece of pantyhose so it never touches fabric directly.
- Tuck it into the back corner of a dresser drawer or set it on a closet shelf.
- Swap in a fresh bar every couple of months once the scent fades.
More Ways To Use It
- A bar set on a linen closet shelf keeps folded sheets and towels smelling just as fresh.
- Drop one in a gym bag or suitcase between trips so it is not greeted with a musty smell next time.

ASK THE GENIUS
"Will the soap scent get too strong or stain my clothes?"
Keeping the bar wrapped in a thin cloth keeps the scent light and completely prevents any contact with your clothes, so there is no staining or residue to worry about.

DID YOU KNOW?
Bar soap is one of the oldest manufactured home products around, with evidence of soap making going back more than four thousand years to ancient Babylon.
Those early soap makers mixed animal fat with ash, nothing like the gentle scented bars we tuck into drawers today.
