First welcome to the new look and name of Handy Hints. We are now Genius House Hacks AND we have supporting website to match (GeniusHouseHacks.com. It has some great tools where you can Ask The Genius and it will return a tip for just about anything... at least if we've covered it before.
We are also going to be doing videos for some of our hacks that you can watch on the site or YouTube (make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel to be notified when a new video has been made.)
My great-nephews came through this weekend, and by the time they left, my kitchen floor looked like a construction site. Muddy sneakers, spilled juice, all of it.
I used to dread mop day. A bucket of gray water, freezing pruney hands, streaks everywhere I looked.
Not anymore. I found a couple of tricks that make floor cleanup fast and nearly painless, no matter what gets tracked in. Below is how I do mine.

Skip the Bucket, Spray Instead
Mix a spray bottle of warm water, a splash of white vinegar, and two drops of dish soap.
Spray a small section of floor at a time and wipe with a microfiber cloth or mop head. No rinsing, no bucket, no streaks left behind.
Lift Scuffs Before You Mop
Rub a barely damp magic eraser or a dab of baking soda paste over muddy streaks and shoe scuffs before you start mopping.
It lifts the ground in dirt first, so your mop is not just pushing grime around the room.
