Why This Drill Matters

The Wall Switch Drill helps you practice calm, controlled movement while reinforcing your awareness of your home's layout. How to Perform the Drill
Start in your normal position, then turn off the lights and allow your eyes a few seconds to adjust. Walk slowly toward the wall switch using deliberate steps. If needed, lightly trail one hand along the wall for guidance rather than reaching blindly into the room. Locate the switch by touch and turn the lights back on.
Repeat the drill several times from different starting locations. Once you're comfortable, practice in other rooms or begin from a seated or lying position. The goal is not speed—it's building smooth, confident movement under low-light conditions.
