Got a minute? Good.
I love finding tips that don't require spending money or completely changing your routine. The best ones are the little things that are easy to do but can have a surprisingly big payoff.
When I came across this study, I had to share it. We've all heard that exercise is important, but it can feel impossible to carve out a half hour or more every day. The good news? Researchers found that just three short bursts of vigorous movement throughout the day may be enough to improve your health and even help you live longer.
This is one tip I'm going to try and honestly I'll just put on one of my favorite dance songs that always gets me moving (Bruno Mars maybe) and dance, dance, dance!

Three Minutes That Could Pay Off for Years
Photo: You don't need a long workout. Just a few one-minute bursts of vigorous movement each day may help improve your long-term health. Anisa dancing to get her 1 minute in.
Researchers followed more than 25,000 adults for an average of seven years while tracking their daily activity. The results were impressive. Those who squeezed in just three or four one-minute bursts of vigorous movement each day had a 38% to 40% lower risk of dying during the study than those who didn't.
The secret isn't spending hours exercising. It's simply moving with enough intensity that talking becomes difficult for about a minute. That could mean climbing stairs quickly, carrying heavy bags, briskly walking uphill, or tackling yard work with a little extra energy.
Turn Everyday Chores Into Mini Workouts
One of my favorite parts of this research is that it focuses on activities you're probably already doing. Instead of looking for extra time to exercise, make everyday tasks work a little harder for you.
Walk faster through the parking lot. Carry your groceries instead of using a cart when possible. Take the stairs instead of the elevator. Even doing housework at a quicker pace can give your heart a healthy workout.
These tiny bursts of effort aren't meant to replace regular exercise, but they're an easy way to fit more healthy movement into a busy day. Sometimes the handiest health tip isn't finding more time. It's making the most of the time you already have.
