Greetings!
Every year around this time, something shifts. The days get a little longer, the light comes through the windows at a different angle, and suddenly you can see every dust bunny, fingerprint, and forgotten corner of your home with startling clarity.
The winter fogs lifts, literally and figuratively, and the urge to scrub, sort, and start fresh arrives right on schedule.
We call it spring cleaning, but if we're being honest, it's really something else entirely. It's a reset.
Let's get thrifty!

Make Your Own Cleaning Solutions
White vinegar, baking soda, dish soap, and warm water handle the overwhelming majority of household cleaning tasks. A spray bottle of diluted white vinegar clean glass, countertops, and bathroom surfaces beautifully. Baking soda scrubs sinks and tubs without scratching.
You can make a season's worth of cleaning supplies for just a few dollars.
Declutter Before You Deep Clean
Cleaning around clutter is inefficient and frustrating. Before you start scrubbing, go room by room and pull you anything you no longer use, need, or love.
Donate what's in good shape, toss what isn't, and give yourself the gift of actually having less to clean around going forward.
Turn Your Declutter Into Cash
Once you have pulled everything together, don't just haul it to the donation bin right away. Go through it with fresh eyes and set aside anything with real resale value (electronics, furniture, clothing, tools, kitchenware). Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, and a simple yard sale can turn your unwanted items into grocery money or an extra bill payment.
Open the Windows Before You Do Anything Else
Fresh air is free and it's the single best thing you can do for a stale winter home. Open every window you can on a mild day and let the house breathe while you work.
If lifts odors, improves your mood while you clean, and reminds you why spring cleaning feels so satisfying in the first place.
