Read about our staffGreetings!
Have you heard of the $5 savings trick? I’ve been doing this for years, my sister actually introduced me to it, and I still swear by it.

Every time you pay with cash, set aside any $5 bills you get back. It’s a small amount you won’t really miss, but it adds up surprisingly fast.

Just stash it in a jar, an envelope, or even move it into a separate account and let it grow with almost no effort.

Before long, you’ll have a nice little cushion of money you barely noticed was gone.

Let's get thrifty!

Handy Hint: Time Your Dishwasher Runs

Did you know that electricity costs more during 'peak hours'? Where I live, power can cost up to 4x as much from 1-7pm versus off-peak hours.

Most people run their dishwasher at night anyways, but you should look up your local peak hours. Starting the nightly dishwasher load at 9pm instead of 6pm could actually save you a couple of bucks each month.

Thrifty Tip: Take Care of the Things You Have

It's important to try to maintain the items that you already have rather than just throwing it out the moment it stops working and buying a new one. Sometimes that is all you can do, but choosing to try to fix it first can save you so much money.

I try to fix everything before I break down and purchase new. It's important to stay consistent with the upkeep of your home. Keep it clean and tidy, maintain appliances, and use products that will help everything last longer.

Thrifty Tip: DIY

Thrifty Tip: DIY
Haircuts, home projects, yard York etc can be daunting, but I try to always remember where there is a will there is a way. Everything you determine to do yourself in your home can save you tons of money. Sometimes it is more time consuming yes, but learning to do it yourself not only save you money, but it gives you a sense of gratification after the project is done.
