Read about our staffGreetings!

Spring is right around the corner, and now is the perfect time to start getting your home and routines ready for the change in seasons.

A little preparation can help you save money, stay organized, and make the most of the warmer days ahead. It's also a great time to take stock of what you have already, clear out things you no longer use, and just make a few changes that make daily life a tad easier.

Handy Hint: Rotate Seasonal Clothes

Take some time this weekend to go through closets and drawers, and swap out heavy winter clothing for lighter spring items. As you do this, set aside anything that no longer fits or hasn't been worn in awhile. Those items can be donated, sold, or passed along to someone else who can use them.

Thrifty Tip: Open the Windows and Freshen Up the House

One of the easiest ways to welcome spring is simply letting fresh air into your home. A few open windows will help clear out the stuffiness that builds up over winter and make your home feel brighter and more inviting. The fresh air does us all some good.

Thrifty Tip: Winter Pantry Items

Soups, baking mixes, hot cocoa, and other cold-weather foods may still be sitting in your pantry. Try to use them up before buying new groceries for the season.

A few cans of soup can make quick lunches on chilly early-spring days, and baking mixes are perfect for easy weekend treats. Hot cocoa packets can be used in some very creative ways. Try mixing them into your coffee for a mocha-style drink, or adding them in some baked goods.
