Sharpen Your Scissors
Sharpening scissors with aluminum foil is a simple, chemical-free way to restore dull blades. Folding a sheet of foil several times creates a thick, resistant surface that when cut repeatedly, realigns the scissor edges and removes tiny burrs. Simply just cut through the foil lengthwise about 10-15 times, and then wipe the blades clean. This quick trick works on almost every household scissors, from kitchen shears to craft scissors. It gives you smooth, precise cuts without needing to buy a new pair.

Scrub Stubborn Pans and Grills
Crumpled up aluminum foil makes an effective scrubber for stubborn pans and grills. It acts like a mini steel wool pad believe it or not. Just tear off a sheet of foil, crumple it into a tight ball, and use it to scrub away burnt-on food, grease, or residue from pots, pans, or grill grates. Afterwards, rinse thoroughly.

Its firm texture tackles tough messes while being gentle enough to avoid scratching most stainless steel surfaces.

Emergency Ice Pack
Did you know wrapping aluminum foil around an ice pack or a bag of ice helps keep it colder longer by reflecting external heat away and slowing temperature loss. It also creates a barrier that reduces condensation. Wrap foil snugly around your cold pack before placing it on in a cooler, or on a injury.

Keep Bananas Fresher Longer
I feel like most everyone knows this one, but I'm featuring it in case some of my readers don't. Wrapping the stems of bananas with foil helps slow the release of ethylene gas. Ethylene gas is the natural ripening agent that causes bananas to turn brown quickly. Separate the bananas slightly and wrap the foil snugly around the stem cluster to trap the gas at its source.

This small step can keep your bananas yellow and firm for several extra days.
