The most common cause of heating (and cooling) problems is an easy one to solve: dirty filters.
A clean filter improves not only air quality, but helps your heating system run more efficiently.
If your heater isn't warming every room in the house, check your filter first. It may just need to be replaced. During the winter months you should change your filter about once a month.
Thrifty Tip: Seal Drafty Windows
Cold air coming through a window might be what is preventing a room from warming up. You can try a window insulator kit that will include all the supplies to cover the entire window with a layer of heat-shrink plastic. You can also try sealing drafty windows using caulk.
Thrifty Tip: Draft Stoppers To The Rescue
A simple draft stopper will stop cold air from coming in from under a door or window. Simply lay it in a place wherever you feel a cold breeze.
