Few firearms carry the weight of American history quite like the Colt Single Action Army. Introduced in 1873, it quickly became the sidearm of choice across the frontier. Soldiers trusted it. Chambered originally in 45 Colt and built with a simple but rugged single action design, the SAA was known for its smooth trigger, natural point of aim, and rock solid reliability. It served the U.S. Army for years and became the trusty companion of frontier icons from ranch hands to railroad guards.

Collectors' Treasure

Collectors admire the Colt SAA not only for its place in history but also for its craftsmanship. Variants came in multiple barrel lengths, calibers, and finishes, and many original examples still function as smoothly today as they did more than 150 years ago.

Fun Fact

Frontier shooters often called the 4.75 inch barrel version the Gunfighters Model because it cleared leather quickly during a draw.
