Mashed potatoes are one of my favorites! But sometimes you just want to mix it up a bit.

This is Marzee's (the first and former editor of The Daily Recipe) recipe that I use all the time.

GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

99centStockingINGREDIENTS:
- 18 cloves garlic, peeled
- 1 cup olive oil
- 8 russet potatoes
- 4 tbsp. unsalted butter
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup Asiago cheese, grated 2 tbsp.
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- Salt and pepper, to taste

DIRECTIONS:
1. Put the garlic and olive oil in a heavy saucepan over lowest possible heat and simmer until soft; 30 to 40 minutes.
2. Drain off oil Puree garlic; set aside.
3. Meanwhile, prick potatoes with a fork and bake in a 400 degree oven for 1 hour, or until soft.
4. While still hot, peel and mash.
5. Melt butter in heavy cream
6. Whisk in pureed garlic.
7. Stir into potatoes.
8. Stir in cheeses and season with salt and pepper.
9. Spoon into a casserole dish.
10. Place in a 400 degree oven for 12 to 15 minutes or until browned and bubbling.
