Most water heaters are set to 140°F by default. That is hotter than most people need for showers, dishwashing, or laundry. By turning it down to 120°F, you can:

1. Reduce Energy Bills
Lowering the temperature reduces standby heat loss and cuts your monthly energy use. On average, this simple adjustment can save $100 or more a year.
