The Best Fruits to Eat This Summer
When the temperatures rise and the days get longer, my cravings shift. I want things that are light, juicy and refreshing. That’s when I turn to fruit. Not only are they delicious and hydrating, but they’re packed with nutrients that help keep me feeling my best through the summer heat. So, if you're wondering what fruit you should be eating this summer, I’ve got some personal favorites that I think are must-haves.
First on my list is
watermelon. I mean, come on. Is it even summer without a big slice of watermelon? It’s sweet, super juicy and made up of more than 90 percent water, which helps keep you hydrated. I love cutting it into chunks and keeping a bowl in the fridge for easy snacking. Sometimes I even add a sprinkle of sea salt or chili powder for a little kick.
Another summer staple for me is
berries. Strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries—I'll take them all. They’re full of antioxidants, especially blueberries, and they taste amazing on their own, in yogurt or blended into a smoothie. When I want a quick dessert, I toss them with a little honey and lemon juice. It’s simple and perfect after dinner.
Peaches and nectarines are another must for me. When they’re in season, they’re just unbeatable. I love biting into a fresh peach and letting the juice drip down my chin. It’s a mess, but a delicious one. Grilling them is also a fun twist. I slice them in half, toss them on the grill for a few minutes, and then top them with a dollop of Greek yogurt. It tastes like something fancy from a restaurant, but it’s so easy.

Let’s not forget
mangoes. I can never get enough of them in the summer. I peel and slice them, toss them in salads or blend them into frozen drinks. Mangoes have this tropical flavor that instantly makes me feel like I’m on vacation. Plus, they’re rich in vitamin C and good for digestion.
Cherries are another fruit I look forward to all year. There’s just something about sitting outside with a bowl of fresh cherries and spitting the pits into a cup. It feels nostalgic to me, like childhood summers. They’re also loaded with antioxidants and can even help with inflammation, which is a bonus after long days out in the sun.
Lastly, I have to give a shout-out to
pineapple. It’s tangy, sweet and really wakes up your taste buds. I love it fresh, grilled or even frozen in popsicle molds with coconut milk for a tropical treat. It’s high in vitamin C and contains bromelain, which helps with digestion.
So, this summer, I say fill your fridge with these fresh picks. Not only will they cool you down, they’ll add color and flavor to your meals, and give your body the boost it needs during the hottest time of year. Fruit is nature’s candy, and in the summer, it’s at its absolute best.
