The Times They Are A Changing

Greetings!

My name is Anisa and we're going to be doing something different with Get Your Freebies. We are changing the format and the name to Thrifty Tips!

Saving money has always been a passion of mine. My mother grew up in the depression and taught me how to stretch a dollar. I'm looking forward to sharing my tips and tricks as well as learning new ones from and with you.

Here's a tip I use quite often:

Ask your doctor for a sample (or two)!

When your doctor prescribes a new medication for you or someone in your family, always ask for samples (unless it is urgent.)

It is a good idea to try a medicine first before buying a larger quantity of it. Sometimes there may be side effects, and some are very expensive.

Doctors usually keep in their office several samples that have been given to them by drug company representatives.

My sister-in-law did this for her Emgality shot for migraines. She actually got 3 samples because the insurance company was taking long to approve this. Each shot would've cost her $1600! By asking they gave her samples every month until she got approved.

Of course she wouldn't have paid the $1600 but she would've been suffering with debilitating migraines until she got approved.

So, don't be bashful, just ask! Somebody's going to get them, it might as well be you!
