Donald Trump Files $10 Billion Lawsuit Against CBS News Alleging Bias in Kamala Harris' '60 Minutes' Interview

Former President Donald Trump has filed a lawsuit against CBS News, accusing the network of manipulating a "60 Minutes" interview with Vice President Kamala Harris to make her appear in a more favorable light. The lawsuit, filed Thursday in federal court, alleges that CBS News engaged in "partisan and unlawful election interference" by selectively editing Harris's responses to improve her public image in the presidential campaign.

According to the $10 billion lawsuit, CBS News allegedly edited out portions of Harris's responses to soften what Trump describes as "disjointed, confusing answers," while highlighting segments that cast her in a positive light. Trump's legal team claims this biased portrayal represents "deceptive manipulation of news," crossing the line from journalism into political advocacy.

The lawsuit further demands that CBS release the unedited, full transcript of Harris's interview, calling it a crucial step to reveal what they allege is "news distortion" favoring one side of the political spectrum.

Filed in the U.S. District Court in the Northern District of Texas, the case is likely to go before U.S. District Judge Matthew Kacsmaryk, a Trump appointee with a record of ruling on cases impacting the former president. Trump's legal team argues that viewers deserve full transparency from news outlets, particularly during election periods.

CBS News has denied the allegations, asserting that the "60 Minutes" segment was not edited to mislead or omit any part of Harris's responses. A CBS spokesperson stated, "The interview was conducted in good faith to inform viewers, and the lawsuit is without merit. CBS News will defend itself vigorously."
