Melissa McCarthy, Octavia Spencer bungle super powers in 'Thunder Force' trailer

Video ThumbnailNetflix released the trailer for Thunder Force on Wednesday. Melissa McCarthy and Octavia Spencer play superheroes having trouble adjusting to their new powers.

Spencer plays Emily, a scientist who develops a formula to give people superpowers. McCarthy plays Lydia, a friend who injects herself and gains super strength. Emily gains the power of invisibility.

Emily and Lydia become Thunder Force and try to save the city, but their new powers aren't foolproof. Emily appears beside a convenience store robber (Ben Falcone) and tasers him, but freaks out over the extent of the shock.

Lydia fights a villain (Bobby Cannavale) who complains about the smell of her hero costume. Both have trouble getting out of their car, but Lydia can do flips atop a moving car and throw a bus across several city blocks.

Jason Bateman plays a supervillain with crab claws and Pom Klementief plays another who can shoot projectile beams.

Falcone wrote and directed Thunder Force. He directed four previous McCarthy movies, Tammy, The Boss, Life of the Party and Superintelligence.

Thunder Force premieres April 9 on Netflix.

Chris Harrison on his future as 'Bachelor' host: 'I plan to be back'

Mask DeptChris Harrison plans to return to The Bachelor after stepping away from the franchise in February.

The 49-year-old television personality appeared on Thursday's episode of Good Morning America, where he discussed his controversial interview with Rachel Lindsay and his future with The Bachelor.

Harrison stepped aside from The Bachelor last month after "speaking in a way that perpetuates racism in an interview with Lindsay on Extra. In the interview, Harrison defended Bachelor Season 25 contestant Rachael Kirkconnell, who later apologized for "offensive and racist" past actions.

On GMA, Harrison said he was wrong to defend Kirkconnell, whose social media history included photos of her attending an "Old South" plantation-themed party in 2018 and liking racist posts.

"I am an imperfect man, I made a mistake and I own that," Harrison said. "I believe that mistake doesn't reflect who I am or what I stand for. I am committed to progress, not just for myself, also for the franchise. And this is a franchise that has been a part of my life for the better part of 20 years and I love it."

Harrison had questioned in his interview with Lindsay if the antebellum party was "a good look in 2018 or is it not a good look in 2021? Because there's a big difference." On GMA, Harrison walked back his comments and denounced such events.

"I am saddened and shocked at how insensitive I was in that interview with Rachel Lindsay," the star said.

"I didn't say it then and I want to say it now: those parties are not okay, past, present, future," he added. "And I didn't speak from my heart. And that is to say that I stand against all forms of racism, and I am deeply sorry to Rachel Lindsay and the Black community."

Harrison said he's spoken to "leading scholars, teachers, faith leaders" and a race educator and strategist since stepping away from The Bachelor. He ultimately plans to return to the franchise.

"I plan to be back and I want to be back. And I think this franchise can be an important beacon of change," Harrison said. "I know that change is felt, not just by me, but by many others. And we are excited and willing to do the work to show that progress."

Bachelor executive producers voiced their support for Lindsay in a statement Monday after Lindsay deleted her Instagram account after experiencing "hate" and "online bullying" following her interview with Harrison.

The Bachelor is in its 25th season on ABC. The season stars Matt James, the first Black Bachelor to appear on the show.

Kristen Bell, Dax Shepard to host NBC's 'Family Game Fight'

NBC said Wednesday it has ordered 10 episodes of Family Game Fight, a 1-hour, comedic game show starring real-life celebrity couple Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard.

"Kristen is my favorite human to work with," Shepard said in a news release. "She's the most consistently funny, playful and joyful scene partner I've ever had. She's also incredibly fun to look at."

This will be the first time the married stars will team up for a television project.

Each episode will show Bell and Shepard "adopted" into a family of four contestants who will compete in a series of games which will lead to a cash prize.

"For one of our first dates, I invited Dax over for a game night at my house with a bunch of friends," Bell said.

"He said he fell in love with me there because I was a very tiny person bossing everyone around. I fell in love with him too because he's a very large person who could boss everyone around, but chooses not to. I'm so excited to host Family Game Fight and play all day with my best friend."

Veronica Mars and The Good Place actress Bell, 40, married Parenthood and The Ranch actor Shepard, 46, in 2013. They are the parents of two young daughters.

Alec Baldwin deactivates Twitter account after Gillian Anderson remarks

Alec Baldwin has deactivated his Twitter account following his remarks about actress Gillian Anderson.

The 62-year-old actor confirmed he quit Twitter in an Instagram video Wednesday.

Baldwin deactivated his account after referencing Anderson "switching accents" in a tweet Wednesday. Fans were surprised to hear Anderson, who grew up in London and has played many British roles, speak in an American accent at the Golden Globes on Sunday.

Baldwin re-posted a CNN story titled, "Gillian Anderson's American accent throws some people off" and tweeted, "Switching accents? That sounds...fascinating."

Baldwin's wife, Hilaria Baldwin, had faced backlash in December after her Spanish accent and heritage were called into question. Hilaria Baldwin later said she was born in Boston but grew up spending time in Spain. She also clarified that her given name is Hillary.

In his video Wednesday, Baldwin appeared to address his remarks but did not mention Anderson by name.

"Wanted to post a quick video to say that I deactivated my Twitter account today," he said. "I just wrote, 'Oh, that's interesting.' And of course, you can't do any irony on Twitter -- you can't do any irony in the United States anymore because the United States is such [an] uptight, stressed-out place and such an unpleasant place right now."

Baldwin said he is a "huge fan" of Anderson's and didn't mean to offend her. He said he was trying to illustrate the point that if people are influenced by multiple culture, "that's your business."

Baldwin said he "can't say anything dark enough" to describe Twitter users.

"The problem with Twitter is, there was a lot of haters," he said.

Baldwin had slammed "ridiculous" and "false" reports in December amid the controversy over Hilaria Baldwin's heritage.

"We live in a world where we're hidden behind the anonymity of social media, and people feel like they can say anything," he said. "They want to spray it all over you and spit it all over you, their venom and their hate."

Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin announced the birth of their sixth child together this week. Hilaria Baldwin later introduced the new baby, a daughter named Lucia.

Baldwin and Hilaria Baldwin have five other children, daughter Carmen, 7, and sons Rafael, 6, Leonardo, 4, Romeo, 2, and Edu, 5 months. Alec Baldwin also has a daughter, Ireland, 25, with his ex-wife, actress Kim Basinger.
