'Who's the Boss' revival with Tony Danza, Alyssa Milano in the works

A sequel series to classic sitcom Who's the Boss?, featuring original stars Tony Danza and Alyssa Milano, is in development at Sony Pictures Television.

Danza and Milano will reprise their roles as Tony and Samantha Micelli, respectively.

The sequel will take place 30 years after the original and follow Samantha, who is a single-mom living in the same house from the first series. The program will also follow Tony, who is now retired, and his relationship with his daughter.

Original stars Judith Light and Danny Pintauro are not attached, but could be added to the sequel in the future. Series star Katherine Helmond died in 2019 at the age of 89.

Who's the Boss?, created by Martin Cohan and Blake Hunter, ran for eight seasons on ABC from 1984 to 1992. Norman Lear is executive producing the sequel along with Danza and Milano.

"Who's the Boss? was a very progressive show. A divorced mom, who owned her own business and had a free-spirited mother who made sex jokes, who hires a single dad to be her housekeeper. We were really a modern family in the 80s. We look forward to making the sequel as thoughtful, smart and relevant to the times today. And make people laugh at the same time," Milano said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight.

"We feel the time is right to tell the story of where these amazing characters are today. Can't wait to share their stories with you. So happy," Milano said on Instagram alongside a photo of herself with Danza from the show.

Danza also commented on the revival on Instagram alongside a number of photos from the show.

"Very excited to bring Who's the Boss back to television!" the actor said.

Disney to debut 'Mulan' for $29.99 on Disney+ in September

Disney announced Tuesday that the live-action remake of Mulan will premiere on its Disney+ streaming service, foregoing a theatrical release in the United States and other territories where the platform is available.

During an earnings call, Disney CEO Bob Chapek said Disney+ subscribers will be able to rent the film for a $29.99 fee in addition to the $6.99 monthly subscriber fee on Sept. 4. Mulan will play in cinemas in markets where Disney+ is not available.

"We thought it was important to find alternative ways to bring [Mulan] in a timely manner," Chapek said.

Mulan was previously set to debut on Aug. 21 but was taken off release calendars amid the pandemic. The company has also delayed a number of untitled Star Wars films and the planned Avatar sequels by one year.

Chapek indicated this move would not represent a change in its overall approach to film releases moving forward.

"We're looking at Mulan as a one-off as opposed to saying there's some new business windowing model that we're looking at," he said.

The move Tuesday comes after Warner Bros. announced last week that Christopher Nolan's Tenet willl debut in theatres in 70 countries outside the United States including Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Korea, Russia, Spain and Britain on Aug. 26 after a series of delays.

Neil Young sues Trump campaign over use of songs at rallies

Neil Young filed a copyright infringement lawsuit against President Donald Trump's reelection campaign, alleging the musician's songs were used at rallies without Young's permission.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court, Southern District of New York, alleges Donald J. Trump for President Inc. used Young's songs "Rockin in the Free World" and "Devil's Sidewalk" at numerous campaign events, most recently at a June 20 rally in Tulsa, Okla.

"This complaint is not intended to disrespect the rights and opinions of American citizens, who are free to support the candidate of their choosing," the suit states. "However, Plaintiff in good conscience cannot allow his music to be used as a 'theme song' for a divisive, un-American campaign of ignorance and hate."

Young's attorney, Robert Besser, wrote the singer-songwriter is seeking to have Trump barred from using the songs at future events. The suit is also seeking statutory damages.

Zooey Deschanel 'so grateful' for Jonathan Scott on first anniversary

Zooey Deschanel was feeling "so grateful" for her boyfriend, Jonathan Scott, on their first anniversary.

The 40-year-old actress and 42-year-old contractor and television personality dedicated posts to each other on Instagram while celebrating their first anniversary as a couple Tuesday.

Deschanel shared a pair of photos of herself with Scott and praised the Property Brothers star as an "incredible human" in the caption.

"One year ago today I met this kind, caring, hilarious, generous, creative, nerdy, handsome and all around incredible human. I am so grateful for every smile, kiss, hug, snuggle, laugh, scrabble game, escape room, breakfast, lunch and dinner we share together," the actress wrote.

"Even during the weirdest year for humanity I want a million billion more with you," she added.

Scott posted a video montage of moments from throughout his relationship with Deschanel.

"How time flies when you're having the best time of your life. Who would've known that exactly one year ago my life would change forever. When I count my blessings, I count you twice," he said.

Deschanel and Scott met while filming an episode of Carpool Karaoke with their respective siblings, Emily Deschanel and Drew Scott, in August 2019. The couple were first linked in September and appeared in a first photo together on Instagram in October.

Deschanel split from her husband, Jacob Pechenik, in September after four years of marriage. The pair have two children, daughter Elsie, 5, and son Charlie, 3.

Deschanel is known for playing Jess Day on the Fox series New Girl. Scott and his brother Drew Scott, his identical twin, have starred on Property Brothers since 2011.

Which 'Zombieland' star says he is 'anxiety-free' since pandemic started?

Jesse Eisenberg appeared on The Tonight Show and discussed how his anxiety has helped him prepare for the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I've been anxiety-free since whenever the pandemic struck. Anytime there's a real crisis in the world, I'm like kind of an American hero. Three hundred and sixty four days of the year, American coward," the actor, who has been open about dealing with anxiety, told host Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday.

"I'm in a panic that something terrible is going to happen. I mean, I think there's been generations of me you know in my lineage that are in a panic, waiting for the bad thing to happen. And so it makes us look really out of step with society and worried but when something actually happens, we're the only one that's ready for it," he continued.

Eisenberg also discussed how he took a road trip with his family using an RV when the pandemic started and his newly released Audible project titled When You Finish Saving the World that he wrote and stars in.

Eisenberg compared the project to a novel, told from the perspective of three characters that takes place over the course of 30 years. Eisenberg portrays a new father with Finn Wolfhard as his son and Kaitlyn Dever as his wife.

"I adapted like a small part of it and wrote a movie that I'm going to direct with Julianne Moore and this wonderful company A24 is coming on to produce it," Eisenberg said about developing a film version of When You Finish Saving the World.
