Ecclesiastes 7:1-2

A good name is better than precious ointment,
And the day of death than the day of one's birth;
Better to go to the house of mourning
Than to go to the house of feasting,
For that is the end of all men;
And the living will take it to heart.

Greetings Bible Enthusiast!

How can sorrow be better than rejoicing? The Bible says that this is true. Anybody who has mourned a loved one, especially when the death is tragic, knows the myriad of questions that course through one's mind in the search for answers.

People who are mourning become spiritual, whether they realize it or not, because after death it is only the spiritual realm that exists. When things are going well, people tend to credit themselves, but in times of sorrow, people turn to God because there is nowhere else to go with their grief, or guilt, or whatever else may burden them.

Remember: "Do not mourn as those who have no hope."

God Bless You!

- Hilys Jasper

FEATURED FUNNY:

A man ordered plans for a tree house for his children but received plans for a sailboat instead. He wrote an angry letter of complaint to the company and received this reply:

"We can understand your anger about this mistake, but it was nothing compared to the man who went out on the lake and tried to sail a tree house!"

ANSWER TO TRIVIA QUESTION:

Q. When were Jesus' disciples first called Christians?

A. In Antioch, during the ministry of Paul and Barnabas

Then Barnabas departed for Tarsus to seek Saul. And when he had found him, he brought him to Antioch. So it was that for a whole year they assembled with the church and taught a great many people. And the disciples were first called Christians in Antioch.

Acts 11:25-26

It was shortly after this time that Saul began being called Paul.
