Tiger Woods signs memoir deal with HarperCollins

Tiger Woods has signed a deal with HarperCollins to publish his first memoir.

The 43-year-old professional golfer confirmed Tuesday that he is writing Back, a candid new book about the ups and downs of his personal life and career.

"I've been in the spotlight for a long time, and because of that, there have been books and articles and TV shows about me, most filled with errors, speculative and wrong. This book is my definitive story," Woods tweeted.

HarperCollins said in a press release that Back will recount Woods' rise to fame, struggles with injuries and personal issues, and comeback win at the 2019 Masters golf tournament. The book was written with the cooperation of Woods' friends, family and inner circle.

"Tiger will reclaim his own story and legacy and it's a story for the world over," HarperOne Group president Judith Curr said.

HarperOne executive editor Shannon Welch said Woods is eager to share his story.

"He's at a place in his career and his life where he's thinking deeply about his story, the highs and lows, and how it all relates and connects. I think the result will be extraordinary," she said.

Woods started golfing as a child and turned pro at age 20 in 1996. He has 81 PGA tour wins, the second highest of any player, including five Masters wins.

Charlize Theron: Working with Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie was 'dream come true'

Charlize Theron says working with Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie on her new film was a "dream come true."

The 44-year-old actress said during Tuesday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show that it was a special experience to work with Kidman, Robbie and other women on the movie Bombshell.

Theron appeared with Kidman, 52, and Robbie, 29, on the show to discuss the film, which centers on female Fox News personnel and their allegations of sexual harassment against Fox News founder Roger Ailes.

"This is like literally a dream come true for me right here," Theron said of Kidman and Robbie. "The whole cast, it's just an amazing group of people."

"We've kind of had this conversation quite a bit, how rare it is where you get to work with so many women. Where you get to have an experience where you get to work with people you so admire," she added.

Theron and Kidman play former Fox News personalities Megyn Kelly and Gretchen Carlson, who were among the women to accuse of Ailes of harassment in 2016. Theron said the real-life Kelly has not reached out about the film.

"Megyn is fully aware of the film and I'm really hoping that she'll see it," she said. "We want everybody to see it who's involved in the story."

Robbie portrays Kayla Pospisil, a fictional Fox News associate producer.

Bombshell co-stars John Lithgow as Ailes, Connie Britton as Beth Ailes and Mark Duplass as Douglas Brunt. The film opens in theaters Dec. 20 and released a teaser trailer in August.

LOOSE LIPS:

"Both he and I now say, 'If we had married, we would not be together.' No question about it - we would not stay married, because of what that would have meant to him, and I would have had my own ideas about it."
--Oprah Winfrey, on her relationship of more than 30 years with partner Stedman Graham and why she has no regrets about deciding not to get married or have children, in PEOPLE's Women Changing the World cover story

Josh Gad 'wept' at 'Frozen 2': 'Stunning and surprising'

Josh Gad says Frozen 2 is a "stunning and surprising" film.

The 38-year-old actor reacted in an Instagram post Monday after seeing the finished film for the first time.

Gad, who voices the snowman Olaf, shared a group photo with the cast and crew at the screening, including Idina Menzel (Elsa), Kristen Bell (Anna) and Evan Rachel Wood (Queen Iduna).

"Tonight after three years of coming in and working in a booth by ourselves oppisite our brilliant directors @alittlejelee and Chris Buck, we FINALLY got to see the finished product for the first time. To say it was worth the wait would be an understatement," Gad captioned the post.

"There is so much I want to tell you but so little I can tell you. I laughed, I gasped, I applauded and I wept. #frozen2 is stunning and surprising in many ways," he said. "On top of the return of your favorite characters and the introduction of some wonderful new ones, this is a story first and foremost about the undying love of two sisters (and boy are these the women the world needs right now.) You have never seen Anna and Elsa like this."

"I cannot wait to share this movie with my daughters and with the world," the star added. "Get ready to step into the Unknown."

Frozen 2 is a sequel to Frozen (2013), the second highest-grossing animated film. Gad previously said the songs in Frozen 2 are "even better" than the ones in the original movie, which featured the hit song "Let It Go."

"The songs are even catchier, I'm sorry to say," he said in August. "It's just so good."

Chris Buck and Jennifer Lee returned to direct Frozen 2, which co-stars Jonathan Groff, Santino Fontana and Alfred Molina. The new movie explores how Elsa (Menzel) got her powers.

"Elsa, while she's been accepted, which is beautiful, there has got to be more to what's going on inside her," Lee said in September. "Having to answer that call in life, the thing that speaks to you, it's scary. [It] can be dangerous, but it's an important thing to explore."

Frozen 2 opens in theaters Nov. 22.

Which two authors won the 2019 Booker Prize?

In a rare break from tradition and going against its own rules, the 2019 Man Booker Prize was awarded Monday to two authors: Margaret Atwood and Bernardine Evaristo.

Atwood's The Testaments and Evaristo's Girl, Woman, Other were selected from a shortlist of six books for the coveted prize in English literature and were chosen following a 10-month process, The Booker Prizes said in a statement.

The award had only been shared twice before in 1974 and 1992, and the rules were changed in 1993 to prevent the international recognition and the $63,000 in prize money from being split between two authors.

The Booker Prize Foundation said it "found it impossible" to pick only one of them to be its winner.

"On being told that it was definitely against the rules, the judges held a further discussion and chose to flout them," Booker Prize Foundation Literary Director Gaby Wood said in a statement. "They left the judging room happy and proud, their twin winners gesturing towards the six they would have wanted, had it been possible to split the prize any further."

The Testaments by Atwood, the 79-year-old Canadian author, is a sequel to her acclaimed dystopian novel The Handmaid's Tale and picks up 15 years after the original story ends in the Republic of Gilead under a theocratic regime that is showing signs of decay.

"It is a savage and beautiful novel that speaks to us today with conviction and power," the judges said in a statement. "the bar is set unusually high for Atwood. She soars."

Girl, Woman, Other by Evaristo, 60, tells the contemporary story of 12 characters, most of whom are women, black and British, that is celebratory and vibrant.

"A must-read about modern Britain and womanhood," the judges said. "This is an impressive, fierce novel about the lives of black British families."

Other breaks from tradition this year is that Evaristo is the first black woman to win the prize since it was founded in 1969 and Atwood is only the fourth author to win the award twice. She was selected as the Booker Prize winner in 2000 for The Blind Assassin.

Atwood and Evaristo were announced as this year's joint award winners Monday during a ceremony at Guildhall in London, England.
