'Jersey Shore' star Mike Sorrentino released from prison

Mothers hide your daughters! Jersey Shore star Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino has been released from federal prison.

Sorrentino's publicist told NJ Advance Media that Sorrentino, 38, was freed from Otisville Correctional Facility in Orange County, N.Y., on Thursday.

Sorrentino confirmed the news in a tweet Thursday.

"Turn up we free!!! #freesitch," he captioned a gif.

Sorrentino pleaded guilty to one count of tax evasion in January 2018 and was sentenced to eight months in prison in October. He married Lauren Pesce in November, prior to beginning his sentence in January.

Sorrentino was also sentenced to two years of supervised release, 500 hours of community service and a $10,000 fine, according to NBC News. He paid $123,000 in restitution.

"We are elated to finally close this chapter of our life," Sorrentino said in a statement through his rep. "Thank you to our family, friends and fans for the continuous love and support during this time, it brought us so much peace and comfort."

Sorrentino came to fame on the MTV series Jersey Shore and returned to star on Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. He and his brother, Marc Sorrentino, were accused of filing falsified tax returns on nearly $9 million in income. Marc Sorrentino pleaded guilty to one count of aiding in the preparation of a fraudulent tax return and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Jersey Shore: Family Vacation premiered a third season in August. The show co-stars Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi, Jenni "JWoww" Farley, Paul "Pauly D" DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Deena Cortese.

Demi Moore on her sobriety: 'I don't want to miss a moment'

Demi Moore says her sobriety allows her to experience every moment of life's ups and downs.

The 56-year-old actress discussed her troubled childhood and her renewed commitment to sobriety in the October issue of Harper's Bazaar.

Moore first became sober in her 20s but struggled with addiction again in her 40s. She recommitted to sobriety in her 50s.

"In retrospect, what I realized is that when I opened the door [again], it was just giving my power away," the star said of her relapse.

"I guess I would think of it like this: It was really important to me to have natural childbirth because I didn't want to miss a moment. And with that I experienced pain," she added. "So part of being sober is, I don't want to miss a moment of life, of that texture, even if that means being in -- some pain."

Moore spoke to Harper's Bazaar ahead of the release of her memoir, Inside Out. She recounts her mom's substance abuse issues in the book, including an instance where she helped revive her mom from an overdose as a child.

"The next thing I remember is using my fingers, the small fingers of a child, to dig the pills my mother had tried to swallow out of her mouth while my father held it open and told me what to do," Moore wrote. "Something very deep inside me shifted then, and it never shifted back. My childhood was over."

Moore said in the interview that Rumer, Scout and and Tallulah, her daughters with ex-husband Bruce Willis, helped her implement change in her own life.

"My daughters offered me an opportunity to start to change the generational pattern. To be able to break the cycles," she said.

Moore previously discussed her addiction and recovery while accepting the Woman of the Year Award from the Peggy Albrecht Friendly House in October.

"I was spiraling down a path of real self-destruction and no matter what success I had I just never felt good enough," the actress said, according to Variety. "I had absolutely no value for myself and this self-destructive path, it really quickly brought me to a real crisis point."

"It wasn't clear at the time, maybe it was divine intervention, but two people who I barely knew stepped up and took a stand for me and presented me with an opportunity," she recalled. "It gave me a chance to redirect the course of my life before I destroyed everything."

Inside Out: A Memoir will be published Sept. 24. Moore will next appear in a USA Network series adaptation of the Aldous Huxley novel Brave New World, co-starring Harry Lloyd, Alden Ehrenreich and Jessica Brown Findlay.

LOOSE LIPS:

"I haven't been happy for years. I didn't think I would be happy again. And here I am - I've gotten to a point where I'm finally okay. It's not because I'm famous. It's not because I have a little more money. It's so many different things: growing up, people coming into your life, certain people leaving your life. All I can say now is, For anybody who isn't doing well, it will get better. Have hope."

Colin Trevorrow directed 'Jurassic World' short premieres Sunday

Universal Studios announced Thursday that Jurassic World director Colin Trevorrow has directed a new short, Battle at Big Rock. The short will premiere Sunday at 9 p.m. on FX following an airing of Jurassic World.

Set one year after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, Battle at Big Rock follows a family of four who encounter dinosaurs at Big Rock National Park. Fallen Kingdom ended with a character releasing dinosaurs into the United States, setting up a third Jurassic World movie. This short will come between Fallen Kingdom and the next feature film.

Andre Holland, Natalie Martinez, Melody Hurd and Pierson Salvador play the family, Universal told UPI. Emily Carmichael wrote the short with cinematography by Larry Fong and music by Amie Doherty.

Trevorrow directed Jurassic World. Released in 2015, it was the first Jurassic Park movie in 14 years since 2001's Jurassic Park III. The original Steven Spielberg directed Jurassic Park was the biggest box office grosser of all time until Titanic in 1997. J.A. Bayona directed Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and Trevorrow is slated to direct the next film.

Battle at Big Rock is also the first film Trevorrow directed since The Book of Henry. He was slated to direct Star Wars: Episode IX but parted ways with Lucasfilm. Trevorrow cowrote and executive produced Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. He is also executive producing Netflix's animated series Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.

The Universal Studios Hollywood theme park also updated their Jurassic Park ride this year. It is now Jurassic World - The Ride.

'BH90210' fans petition for Season 2 after cliffhanger finale

Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!!

BH90210 fans are eager for Season 2 following the show's cliffhanger finale.

Fans of the Fox series, a new reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, called for the show's renewal on Twitter after the Season 1 finale aired Wednesday.

Jason Priestley, Shannen Doherty, Ian Ziering, Brian Austin Green, Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth and Gabrielle Carteris, who play fictionalized versions of themselves, spent the first season pitching a reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210 to Fox. The finale ended with Fox picking the show up but planning to make major changes.

The fictional Fox execs tell Priestley and his co-stars they want to recast the pilot, shoot the show in Canada and fire one of the original cast members. The shakeup means one of the real-life 90210 stars likely won't return in Season 2.

Garth, who played Kelly Taylor on Beverly Hills, 90210, encouraged fans in a tweet Wednesday to petition Fox for a second season. Fans showed their support online.

"More more we want more! This is awesome! I love to see more of the 'as themselves' and as the characters both! The 90210 feel with the more mature look back and hope for a better tomorrow! #90210reboot @FOXTV," one person wrote.

"I have always been a huge fan on BH 90210 and have watched every episode of this new season! I LOVE IT! PLEASE let there be another season! Please!" another added.

Garth and Spelling, who portrayed Donna Martin on Beverly Hills, 90210, discussed their plans for Season 2 in an interview with The Wrap published Wednesday.

"From our perspective, it was definitely not a limited series," Spelling said. "The intention is to go on."

"It will be juicy, because it'll be more about the show, the filming of the actual show and more of these people thrust into each other's lives like all the time," Garth added of a potential Season 2. "So it would be about these people being together in that kind of environment and being forced to be there and how all that works out for everyone."
