CLAIM TO FAME: Charles Martin Smith is an American actor, writer, and director, best known for his roles in American Graffiti, Never Cry Wolf, Starman, and The Untouchables.
FAMILY LIFE: He is divorced from actress Ursula Martin. They have one child together.

Attended California State University, Northridge and was awarded a B.A. in Theatre.
Plays piano, guitar and enjoys writing songs.
Son of animator Frank Smith.
Nephew of Paul J. Smith and Hank Smith.
Cousin of Sheryl Ann Smith.
During filming Never Cry Wolf (1983), he fell in love with the Canadian Northwest region and moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, where he has resided since the mid-1980s.
TRIVIA: Attended Grover Cleveland High School with fellow classmate Morgan Brittany.
Smith was acting in a school play version of Man of La Mancha when he was discovered by a talent agent.
It only took a few years for him to land the role of Terry "The Toad" Fields in George Lucas' 1973 film American Graffiti.
Auditioned for the role of Luke Skywalker for the 1977 blockbuster Star Wars.
WHERE IS HE NOW: Smith is still performing in front of the camera, but seems to enjoy spending more time working behind it. In 2019, Smith directed the successful family film, A Dog's Way Home.
