Here's the Scoop...

How is this the first time I'm hearing about this? Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock are to play father and son in a reboot of the Saw horror franchise. Is this for real?

Rock was previously announced as a producer of the as-yet-untitled film.

"We think Samuel L. Jackson and Chris Rock along with Max Minghella and Marisol Nichols make this film completely special in the Saw canon and we can't wait to unleash this unexpected and sinister new story on fans of this franchise. This is next level of Saw on full tilt," Joe Drake, chairman of the Lionsgate Motion Picture Group, said in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.

EW.com said Monday that Rock will play a police detective investigating a series of gruesome murders and Jackson will play his dad.

Minghella will play Rock's partner and Nichols will play Rock's boss.

The franchise has thus far included eight films released 2004-17.

I've only even seen the first Saw movie, which was clever enough, but I'm not too keen on those gore-tastic horror flicks. But I might pony-up the dough to see this reboot.

Be Well,
Steve

Keke Palmer calls 'Surviving R. Kelly' 'eye opening, painful, sad'

Keke Palmer discussed her feelings about R. Kelly and Lifetime's documentary series Surviving R. Kelly on Watch What Happens Live.

Palmer, on Sunday, told host Andy Cohen that Surviving R. Kelly was surprising because it was not the experience she had with the singer. The series, released in January, chronicled sexual assault allegations against Kelly.

"The whole thing was eye opening, painful, sad, disappointing and heartbreaking," Palmer said. "That's not the side I knew. That's not the person that I worked with. That's not the experience I had."

"Just imagine that you having a great experience with someone and then you hearing all this stuff it's like, why didn't you show them what you showed me?" she continued.

"I hated talking about it because I felt like man, you were a friend to me but then I'm seeing you as a foe to others and I'm hurt for them," she said. "It was very saddening. I think anybody that loved him as a person probably feels that way."

Surviving R. Kelly was followed by Kelly being charged with 10 counts of aggravated criminal sex abuse between 1998 and 2010. In June, he pleaded not guilty to 11 new charges related to alleged sexual assault of a teenage fan in 2010.

Palmer will next be seen in Hustlers alongside Jennifer Lopez, Constance Wu, Cardi B, Julie Stiles and Lili Reinhart. The film is based on a 2016 New York magazine article about a group of former strippers who team up to scam their Wall Street clients.

Palmer was asked by Cohen what she thought about Cardi B's acting in the film as it will be the rapper's first time starring in a movie.

"I thought she did excellent," Palmer said, before noting that Cardi B and Lopez are tied for best dancer in the film.

"JLO has this really unbelievable scene that y'all are gonna gag over," she said.

Which 'Chicago Med' star will return in the Season 5 premiere?

Chicago Med alum Colin Donnell will return in the show's Season 5 premiere.

TVLine confirmed Monday the 36-year-old actor will reprise Dr. Connor Rhodes in the episode, which airs Sept. 25.

Us Weekly said the premiere will complete Connor's story line. Donnell confirmed the news Monday on Twitter by re-tweeting articles about his return.

Donnell and Norma Kuhling, who played Connor's ex-girlfriend and co-worker, Dr. Ava Bekker, last appeared in the Season 4 finale, which aired in May. Connor and Ava parted on bad terms following Connor's father's death.

Donnell had confirmed his exit from Chicago Med in a tweet in April.

"Sorry to say that this is true. I love my #ChicagoMed #OneChicago family dearly. And a special thank you to all the fans that have made these last four seasons so amazing," the star wrote.

"It's been an honor to be a part of such a great trio of shows and in the @WolfEnt family," he added, referencing Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire and series creator Dick Wolf. "I know that there's great things coming in Season 5 and I can't wait to see what they are along with all you fans."

Chicago Med stars Nick Gehlfuss, Yaya DaCosta and Torrey DeVitto. It is unknown if Kuhling and Jon Seda, who portrayed Antonio Dawson and also departed after Season 4, will also appear in the Season 5 premiere.
