You deserve a little pampering once in a while. A bath can actually lift your mood even more than exercise does!
German researchers asked people to either soak in a hot bath for 30 minutes and then relax under a warm blanket for 20 minutes or to complete 40-45 minutes of aerobic exercise twice a week.
Shockingly, after eight weeks, the bathers scored lower on a depression scale than the exercise group.
Bath's heat activates nerve cells in the brain that produce the feel-good brain chemical serotonin. And on the bright side, it's just so much easier to sit in a bath than it is to exercise.
