Shailene Woodley praises Meryl Streep: 'She's a master of her craft'

Shailene Woodley has nothing but praise for Big Little Lies co-star Meryl Streep. The 27-year-old actress discussed working with Streep in Season 2 of the HBO series during an episode of The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon. "She's so wonderfully generous and immediately disarms you with her generosity that you sort of forget for a moment that you're working with a master of her craft... and then the cameras start rolling," Woodley told host Jimmy Kimmel.

"She is like a little kid on a set in the sense of no matter how long she's been doing this and no matter how many accolades and awards she's garnered, she just genuinely loves acting. She loves storytelling. She's a master of her craft," she said.

Woodley, who plays Jane Chapman on Big Little Lies, shared her favorite memory of Streep from set. "We're filming Episode 6 or 7, it's the very end of the whole thing, and she comes up and it's me and Nicole [Kidman], Reese [Witherspoon], Laura [Dern], Zoe [Kravitz] sitting there. She goes, 'I wonder what this line on page three has to do with this line on page seven. Hmm.' And she walks away."

"All of us were like, 'Huh?' We go through our scripts and we're like, 'Holy [expletive]. How'd she find that? How'd she do that? How'd she connect those dots?' She just reads scripts differently than anyone I've ever known."

LOOSE LIPS:

"Part of the reason I wanted to do it was that I thought, 'At what age is being naked not beautiful anymore? Is there a sell-by date on us?' I look back at some of my old Playboy pictures and I think, 'Why wasn't I walking around naked all the time?' I'm not getting younger. So I want to celebrate who I am today."

Selena Gomez teases new music at 'Dead Don't Die' premiere

Selena Gomez gave an update on her new music at the premiere of The Dead Don't Die. The 26-year-old singer and actress spoke to Entertainment Tonight while attending the event Monday in New York, saying her new music is "finally done."

"I just have to do my own little things with it," she said. "I'm excited! I'm more relieved." In addition, Gomez discussed her experience with The Dead Don't Die, which co-stars Bill Murray, Adam Driver, Tilda Swinton and Chloe Sevigny. The movie is a zombie comedy directed by Jim Jarmusch.

"It was such a blast! Everyone that worked on this movie was such a respected actor -- and director as well," she said. "It was so nice to see everyone let loose... Bill Murray would sing slow jams in the makeup trailer. You couldn't ask for a better situation."

Murray told People he misjudged Gomez before working with her on the film. "I learned that I like her," the actor said. "I learned that whatever preconception I had about someone that had 55 million, billion followers of something -- maybe, I probably thought she was different than she turned out to be."

??? Guess Who ???

Adam Sandler says his wife was a tough critic of his on-screen kiss with Jennifer Aniston.

The 52-year-old actor described on The Conan O'Brien Show how wife Jackie Sandler and their two daughters, 13-year-old Sadie and 10-year-old Sunny, wanted him to "go harder" during his kiss with Aniston in the Netflix movie Murder Mystery.

"She wants me to go harder with the kissing. She loves Aniston," Sandler said of his wife. "[She's telling me], 'Get in there.' My two daughters are like, 'Come on. Be nice to Jennifer. Kiss her good.' They all love her."

Jackie, Sadie and Sunny were on set and coaching Sandler as he filmed the scene with Aniston.

"Aniston is a good friend of my family, so the day I had to kiss her -- we kiss in a Ferrari -- I think we did six or seven takes. After each one, I was getting stone silence at the monitor," the star recalled.

"I'd come back to wife and kids and they'd be [silent]. I'd be like, 'What? I think I did good on that one.' 'No daddy,'" he said. "I'm never good at that stuff, the kissing. But when it's in the privacy of my own home, you should see me go."
