Stop Scrubbing! Let The Hurricane Spin Scrubber Do The Work For You...

Hint 1: Save 10% on utilities with window film

You west-facing windows get the hot afternoon sun, but you can cover them with an SPF film that can lower your home's internal temperature significantly.

SPF film adheres right to the window panes, and since they are clear it won't block your view, but will keep out UV rays and infrared heat.

Adding these will lower the temperature in your home by 15 degrees or more and saving you 10% on cooling costs.

Hint 2: Conserve energy by optimiznig fans

Fans can make you and a room feel up to 10 degrees cooler.

While the average central air conditioner uses about 3,500 watts, a floor fan uses only 15 - 19 watts - that's just 3% of the energy of central air.

Also smart: consider placing a stand-alone fan near an A/C vent to boost its range by 25%.

'Go Green' Hint: Install an evaporative cooler

Evaporative coolers are either built-in or free-standing units that incorporate a fan that pulls air over cold-water soaked pads.

These systems use as much as 75 percent less energy than central air
conditioners and can lower the temperature by as much as 30 degrees.
