Matt Damon, Christian Bale chase history in 'Ford v Ferrari' trailer

Matt Damon, Christian Bale chase history in 'Ford v Ferrari' trailerMatt Damon and Christian Bale recreate race car history in the first trailer for Ford v Ferrari.

The clip, released on Sunday, features Damon as car designer Carroll Shelby who is tasked by Henry Ford II (Tracey Letts) to build a car good enough to defeat Ferrari at the 1966 Le Man World Championship.

Shelby recruits British driver Ken Miles, portrayed by Bale, to get behind the wheel of the new experiment car despite being difficult to deal with.

The pair learn to work together as they help build a Ford that can beat Ferrari in 90 days.

"Based on the remarkable true story of the visionary American car designer Carroll Shelby (Damon) and the fearless British-born driver Ken Miles, who together battled corporate interference, the laws of physics, and their own personal demons to build a revolutionary race car for Ford Motor Company and take on the dominating race cars of Enzo Ferrari at the 24 hours of Le Mans in France in 1966," reads the synopsis.

Ford v Ferrari, from director James Mangold (Logan), is set to arrive in theaters on Nov. 15. Jon Bernthal, Caitriona Balfe, Josh Lucas, Noah Jupe, Remo Girone and Ray McKinnon also star.

Mindy Kaling on bribing baby daughter: 'She's like in the mob'

New Stuff2Mindy Kaling says she finds herself bribing her daughter like the baby is in the mob.

The 39-year-old actress jokingly compared Katherine, her 17-month-old daughter, to The Sopranos mobster Tony Soprano during Monday's episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show.

"She's a year-and-a-half and I didn't know how much bribery there was in being a parent. Like, every time I see her, it's like Tony Soprano. I go up to her and I'm like, 'Hey. You have to give me the remote control.' She's like, 'Give me your car keys,'" Kaling told host Ellen DeGeneres.

"She's like in the mob," she said. "She's smart, and she can barely talk. So that's my life right now."

Kaling gave birth to Katherine in December 2017. She discussed motherhood and her initial fears about being a single mother during her Dartmouth College commencement speech in June 2018.

"I remember bringing her home and being in my house with her for the first time and thinking, 'Huh. According to movies and TV, this is traditionally the time when my mother and spouse are supposed to be here, sharing this experience with me.' And I looked around, and I had neither. And for a moment, it was kind of scary," the star said.

"But then, that feeling went away, because the reality is, I'm not doing it by myself," she said. "I'm surrounded by family and friends who love and support me. And the joy I feel from being with my daughter, Katherine, eclipses anything from any crazy checklist."

Kaling will next star in the movie Late Night, which she also wrote and produced. The film follows a late-night talk host (Emma Thompson) who hires her first and only female writer (Kaling).

"She's amazing," Kaling said of Thompson. "She's hilarious. She never gets to do funny parts and she just turned 60. I was just excited to see her in this kind of role."

Late Night co-stars Max Casella, Hugh Dancy and John Lithgow. The movie debuts June 7 in theaters and on Amazon Prime.

LOOSE LIPS:

"My next surgery is booked. I'm having it in August so when we come back to film in September, I will have a new face ... You're just used to it, you'll like the new one."

Which 'Game of Thrones' actress thinks Sansa's ending was 'perfect'?

Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner was "so happy" with Sansa's ending on the show.

The 23-year-old British actress discussed the HBO drama's series finale in an interview with Net-a-Porter's Porter Edit published Friday after playing Sansa Stark for eight seasons.

Sansa ended Game of Thrones as the new Queen in the North. Turner was pleased with Sansa's ending considering her character's many trials throughout the show.

"When I read that script, I was so happy -- it feels like the most perfect ending for Sansa," the star said.

"Having gone through everything she has, it's the most positive outcome, and it feels right for her," she added. "She's so capable now, she'll be an incredible ruler in the North."

Season 8 also ended with Bran Stark (Ian Hempstead Wright) being named king of the six kingdoms, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) leaving to explore beyond Westeros and Jon Snow (Kit Harington) returning to the Night's Watch.

"Yes, the Starks really came out on top," Turner said. "It's like that line of Sansa's from season seven: 'The lone wolf dies, but the pack survives.' I love that line. I had it tattooed on my arm long before we knew the ending."

Turner jokingly said she'd be open to reprise Sansa to fulfill fan hopes, such as a romance between Sansa and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage).

"Maybe we should do a season nine?" she said. "In 20 years, when I'm old and haggard and out of work, I'll definitely be up for a season nine."

Turner will next star in the movie X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which opens in theaters June 7. She said the film has "very clear mental health undertones to it" as her character, Jean Grey, struggles with her powers.

"There's a loss of control over her mind and her powers, representative of schizophrenia, dissociative identity disorder and addiction," the actress said.

Turner previously discussed her own mental health struggles in an interview with Dr. Phil McGraw in April. She said on the Phil in the Blanks podcast she used to think about suicide "a lot" when she was younger.
