Hi All!
"You don't have to be a four-star chef to eat like a gourmet"
----------------------------------------------------------
This is more than a 3 day weekend that kicks off pre-Summer
festivities. There is a deeper meaning behind the day
so as you spend your day off please remember and honor
the gallant souls who laid down their lives in the service
of our great nation. If you know someone whose friend/family
member who've performed this ultimate act of heroism, wish
him/her with a special message on Memorial Day. It is also
a day to gather with friends and family and reach out with
a warm wish.
So if you're choosing to hang out with family and friends
this weekend this is a great recipe for you! Today's recipe
is a red, white and blue dessert perfectly fitting PATRIOTIC
PARFAIT (or layered dessert in a glass bowl) for this
weekend or even 4th of July. You will definitely be scraping
the bottom of the bowl for more.
Enjoy!

DON'T GET THE BERRY BLUES!
Here are some tips on storing
* For short-term storage, keep berries refrigerated. Store
them in a single layer, loosely covered, and refrigerate
for a day or two. Heaping fresh berries on top of each
other in a bowl can crush the fruit.
* For longer storage, freezing is best. Place the berries
in a single layer on a baking pan and place them in the
freezer. Once they're frozen, put the berries in freezer
containers or plastic freezer bags and seal. Stored this
way, berries will keep in the freezer for up to a year.
