Rolling Stones postpone North American concerts; Mick Jagger 'devastated'

British rock and roll icons The Rolling Stones have postponed the upcoming dates on their North American concert tour.

"Mick has been advised by doctors that he cannot go on tour at this time, as he needs medical treatment," said a statement released by the band on Saturday. "The doctors have advised Mick that he is expected to make a complete recovery so that he can get back on stage as soon as possible."

Lead singer Mick Jagger, 75, tweeted separately: "I'm so sorry to all our fans in America & Canada with tickets. I really hate letting you down like this. I'm devastated for having to postpone the tour but I will be working very hard to be back on stage as soon as I can. Once again, huge apologies to everyone."

The band began its No Filter tour of the United Kingdom and Europe last year.

Mckenna Grace to star in next 'Ghostbusters' adventure

Captain Marvel and Designated Survivor alum Mckenna Grace is to star in writer-director Jason Reitman's upcoming Ghostbusters movie.

The Hollywood Reporter said Grace will play the sister of a character played by Finn Wolfhard (Stranger Things.)

Carrie Coon from The Leftovers will play their mother in the new Ghostbusters movie, which is expected to open in theaters in 2020.

"Meet the family," Reitman tweeted along with photos of the three actors.

Grace was seen in last year's anthology series The Haunting of Hill House and will also star in this summer's horror movie, Annabelle Comes Home.

When the Ghostbusters project was announced in January, Reitman said the film would not be a reboot of the franchise, but rather a contemporary sequel to 1984's Ghostbusters and 1989's Ghostbusters II, which his father, Ivan Reitman, helmed. The next movie will ignore a 2016 version of Ghostbusters that featured different stars, characters and mythology from the first two films.

NBC renews 'Law & Order: SVU' for Season 21

NBC said Friday it has renewed its procedural Law & Order: Special Victims Unit for a 21st season.

Starring and executive produced by Mariska Hargitay, SVU is now the longest-running, scripted drama in television history.

It will surpass the 20-season milestone it previously shared with Law & Order (1990-2010) and Gunsmoke (1955-75).

"As SVU moves into its third decade, Mariska has become an iconic figure as a star, advocate and crusader for women," series creator/executive producer Dick Wolf said in a statement. "She is an enduring champion of the movement to end sexual violence, and dozens of episodes have dealt with the very same issues that have shifted into the spotlight in this country in the past two years. Mariska is a delight as #1 on the call sheet and, to me, a true friend."

"I'm deeply proud to be a part of this groundbreaking show, and humbled to make television history today," added Hargitay. "The longevity and continued success of SVU is a testament not only to the show's powerful storytelling and ability to connect with viewers, but to its necessity. We have told important stories for 20 years, and we will continue to tell them."

The series also stars Ice-T, Kelli Giddish, Peter Scanavino and Philip Winchester.

"SVU has been OFFICIALLY picked up for season #21. Making us the longest running drama in Television History! Respect to the man Dick Wolf @NBCUniversal @Mariska @KelliGiddish @PeterScanavino @philipwinchestr and all my past and present Cast and Crew! And definetly ALL the fans!" Ice T tweeted.

"I want to congratulate the cast and crew of @nbcsvu for making history today. Also to thank everyone for two great seasons. I have learned much and enjoyed being part of an elite unit. Here's to you all and a historic run!" Winchester posted.

Which Star Wars legend and prolific voice actor will lend his voice to Chucky in the 'Child's Play' remake?

Mark Hamill has announced he is lending his voice to the demon doll Chucky in the upcoming horror movie, Child's Play.

"People let me tell you 'bout my best friend... The wicked fun begins when @ChildsPlayMovie is unleashed in theaters: Friday, June 21st 2019. #SoLuckyImChucky," Hamill tweeted Saturday.

The message accompanied a brief video in which Hamill said: "I can't wait to bring such an iconic character to life and present him in a way that you've never seen before. Chilld's Play. This summer, we're going to have some fun. And remember: he's more than just a toy. He's your best friend."

Director Lars Klevberg is filming the remake in Vancouver, Canada. The cast also includes Aubrey Plaza, Brian Tyree Henry and Gabriel Bateman.

Tyler Burton Smith penned the screenplay, which is based on the original 1988 movie about a murderous doll.

"Child's Play follows a mother who gives her son a toy doll for his birthday, unaware of its more sinister nature," a synopsis said.

Brad Dourif played Chucky in seven horror movies, most recently in 2017's Cult of Chucky. A Chucky television show is also in the works.

Neither Dourif nor the franchise's creator Don Mancini are involved in the remake.
