We've all heard it before. You are what you eat..and that say can be true in many ways. The food you eat does reflect on your appearance so that is another reason why watching what you eat is so important. Below are foods that prove to be great for your hair, nails, and over all appearance.

Whey Protein: Whey Protein helps your hair produce Keratin and makes it stronger. As an added bonus, Whey Protein also helps to control your appetite and it gives you more energy. Common household food that can quickly contribute to your whey intake? Milk and eggs.

Blueberries: Blueberries are loaded with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that will help improve your immune system. Believe it or not, it will also help boost your hair, skin, and nails.

Red Meat: Red Meat is loaded with protein and iron which is helpful for thicker hair and stronger nails. The meat has higher levels of saturated fat which is something you should try to eat at least once a week.

Beer: Believe it or not, beer can actually be really good for your hair. It makes hair look more voluminous and it can stimulate hair growth. Beer is loaded with silicon which promotes circulation to the scalp!

Oysters: Oysters are loaded with Zinc. Zinc is really important for making proteins in your hair and nails. Each serving of Oysters has 74 grams of Zinc.

Fatty Fish: About three percent of the hair shaft is made up of omega-3 fatty acids. They’re found in cell membranes on your scalp and in the natural oils that keep your scalp and hair hydrated. While salmon is usually the superstar choice, mackerel, sardines and anchovies are even better.

Brazil Nuts: Brazil nuts boosts your hair and nails. By eating 6-8 of these nuts every day, it is a simple way to help your hair and nails stay healthy.

Almonds: Almonds are loaded with protein and magnesium, which promotes healthy hair and stronger nails. Magnesium is also and anti-stress mineral which helps to keep from losing your hair.
