*-- Helpful Health Benefits of Ginger --*

Ginger actually has a very long history of use in various forms of traditional/alternative medicine. I tend to use it to help digestion or reduce nausea. But it can also help fight the flu and common cold, to name a few a few other uses.

As a very common ingredient in recipes, you can use ginger fresh, dried, powdered or as an oil or juice. Sometimes you can even find it in cosmetics. If it's used so often, then it wouldn't be unusual to wonder why.

*--Ginger Calms Nausea--*

One benefit that is well known is that ginger helps if you're trying to ease a queasy stomach, especially during pregnancy. It may work by breaking up and getting rid of built-up gas in your intestines. It might also nausea caused by chemotherapy.

*--It Helps Sooth Muscles and Ease Arthritis--*

Don't be confused, ginger isn't just going to take away muscle pain on the spot, but it may tame soreness over time. In some studies, people with muscle aches from exercise who took ginger had less pain the next day than those who didn't.

Ginger is an anti-inflammatory so it helps reduce swelling. That may be especially helpful for treating symptoms of both rheumatoid arthritis and osteoarthritis. Relief from pain and swelling may be felt from either by taking ginger by mouth or by using a ginger compress or patch on your skin.

*--It Protects Against Disease--*

Ginger is loaded with antioxidants, compounds that prevent stress and damage to your body's DNA. They may help your body fight off chronic diseases like high blood pressure, heart disease, and diseases of the lungs, plus promote healthy aging.
