*-- Holiday Survial Guide to Feeling Your Best --*

Are you experiencing red, puffy, or swollen eyes? Staying up late and celebrating with friends and family, overindulging, and forgetting to take your makeup off could be the culprit.

Tip: Lay down on your back, and place a chilled cotton ball on each of your eyes for 10 minutes. If you have a chilled gel eye mask, that will also do the trick! This will help drain the accumulated fluids and reduce swelling.

I am the first to admit that I am a grazer when it comes to food. Is it benefiting me or anyone else who would consider themselves a grazer? No. That's why it is important to eat healthy, balanced meals this Christmas and New Years.

Tip: Don't save all of your calories for the appetizers and meal at the parties! A healthy, balanced meal should have your lean protein, small portion of a healthy fat, and your fiber-rich carbs such as a sweet potato.

How many people get time to simply just sit down, take a breath, and live in the moment of the holidays? These days...probably not many. Take advantage of your down time and whether you celebrate or not, Christmas morning can provide a couple hours of peace leaving you without all of the hustle and bustle.

Tip: Take the opportunity to really sit and enjoy the peace and quiet with your family. Read a book or mediate for a little bit. This is one time a year that many people aren't really expecting you to do anything.

The Bottom Line: Enjoy yourself. The holidays are about spending time with all of your loved ones and the ones that mean most to you. Even if your pies burn in the oven or someone spills their wine, no one will care. The love is going to be there regardless of what goes wrong. Even when the times get crazy and you feel like you're going to scream, take a look around at all of the gratefulness.
