Demi Lovato's mom says singer is 90 days sober

Demi Lovato's mom is celebrating the singer's renewed sobriety.

Dianna De La Garza said in an interview with the SiriuxXM show Conversations with Maria Menounos that Lovato is 90 days sober.

"She has 90 days and I couldn't be more thankful or more proud of her because addiction being a disease, it's work," she said. "It's very hard, it's not easy and there are no shortcuts."

De La Garza said she's not sure what led to Lovato's reported overdose. She initially thought Lovato had been in a car accident when she started hearing about her daughter's relapse.

"I was looking at my phone and I saw all these text messages coming in from all over," De La Garza recalled. "The one text message that clued me in on what was going on said, 'I just saw on TMZ and I'm so sorry.'"

"I knew that she wasn't sober but I didn't know what she was doing because she doesn't live with me," she said of Lovato. "I started getting all these text messages and my knees almost went weak. I could barely stand up."

Lovato was hospitalized in July after a reported opioid overdose. Her sister Madison De La Garza said in an interview with the Millennial Hollywood podcast this month that the singer is "doing really well" in treatment.

"She's working really hard on her sobriety, and we're all so incredibly proud of her," the 16-year-old actress said. "It's been crazy for our family. It's been a lot."

Katharine McPhee postpones tour due to 'extreme vocal fatigue'

Katharine McPhee announced on Instagram that her planned Fall in Love tour will be postponed due to vocal fatigue.

"I've been so looking forward to getting on the road and seeing all your faces for my upcoming tour dates. It is with deep regret that I must postpone these live dates until next year," the singer said on Saturday.

"I've been struggling with extreme vocal fatigue these last few weeks following my broadway run and have been on strict vocal rest for weeks in hopes that I could be ready for this tour come November but it looks like my body is going to need a little more time," McPhee continued.

"I promise we will reschedule these dates and I'll be back to myself in a couple weeks. I hope you understand. Lots of love," she concluded.

McPhee's Fall in Love tour was set to begin on Nov. 3 in Kohler Wis. She would have also performed in cities such as Chicago, Boston and Ft. Lauderdale, among others.

McPhee made headlines in July after becoming engaged to David Foster.

Movie streaming service FilmStruck to shut down Nov. 29

FilmStruck, the streaming home of hundreds of classic, arthouse, independent and foreign films, is to cease operations on Nov. 29.

"We're incredibly proud of the creativity and innovations produced by the talented and dedicated teams who worked on FilmStruck over the past two years," a press release said. "While FilmStruck has a very loyal fanbase, it remains largely a niche service. We plan to take key learnings from FilmStruck to help shape future business decisions in the direct-to-consumer space and redirect this investment back into our collective portfolios."

Variety.com reported the shutdown is part of a reorganization effort now that WarnerMedia is owned by AT&T.

Oscar-winning filmmakers Barry Jenkins and Guillermo del Toro were quick to voice their support of the streaming service Friday.

"I went into @FilmStruck a little under the weather and before taping anything received a homemade fennel and pea shoot soup, like... these were flesh and blood people who really, truly cared about the work they were doing and the people who made and appreciated film," Jenkins tweeted.

"We will find a way to bring it back- We will!" del Toro vowed in his own post.

Criterion Channel replied to del Toro with, "We will!" FilmStruck is the streaming home of Criterion's library.

A remake of Clueless, the 1995 contemporary retelling of Emma, is also in the works.

The book Emma has been adapted many times, most notably in recent years by Gwyneth Paltrow in a 1996 feature film, Kate Beckinsale in an ITV movie that same year and Romola Garai in a 2009 BBC miniseries.
