'Doctor Who' showrunner would welcome collaboration with J.K. Rowling

New Doctor Who showrunner Chris Chibnall said he would love to work with Harry Potter creator J.K. Rowling.

Chibnall confirmed to reporters at New York Comic Con that Rowling had been in talks to collaborate with former Doctor Who showrunner Russell T. Davies and actor David Tennant years ago, but nothing came of it before Davies and Tennant left the sci-fi series.

Asked if he would be interested in teaming up with Rowling, Chibnall replied, "If J.K. Rowling wants to have anything to do with Doctor Who, please give her my phone number.

"I think she is one of our greatest living writers," he added. "I think Harry Potter is an absolute transcendent piece of work and continues to be with the theater play and with Fantastic Beasts. J.K. Rowling is a genius and if she ever even wants to see what we do on Doctor Who, you tell her from me, the doors are open."

The new season of Doctor Who debuted last week on the BBC and BBC America with Jodie Whittaker taking over the role of the titular time traveler from Peter Capaldi, who left the show after three seasons. Chibnall and Whittaker previously worked together on the drama, Broadchurch.

Russo Brothers wrap filming on 'Avengers 4'

The Russo Brothers say they have finished filming their as-yet-untitled Avengers 4 movie.

"Wrapped," the fraternal filmmakers tweeted Friday, along with the image of a bright light against a blue background.

The superhero ensemble movie is set for theatrical release May 3. It follows the 2018 blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War, which starred Robert Downey, Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, Don Cheadle as War Machine, Tom Holland as Spider-Man and Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther.

Several characters were left in mortal peril at the end of the movie, leaving their roles in the sequel a mystery for now.

Chris Evans, who plays Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, finished filming his part in the next picture earlier this month.

"Officially wrapped on Avengers 4. It was an emotional day to say the least. Playing this role over the last 8 years has been an honor. To everyone in front of the camera, behind the camera, and in the audience, thank you for the memories! Eternally grateful," Evans tweeted on Oct. 4.

LOOSE LIPS:

"People who've never been overweight don't understand what it all entails. They think you're just sitting in the corner and all you do is eat. My thing is, let's get to the real issues - because the food is the symptom; it's not the issue. Everyone's filling a void with something."

Alex Rodriguez unearths signed photo from Jennifer Lopez

Alex Rodriguez says Jennifer Lopez signed a photo for him years before they started dating.

The 43-year-old retired MLB star showed off a picture Thursday on Instagram that Lopez autographed for him nearly 20 years ago.

The picture is a black and white promo image of Lopez for Epic Records. The singer signed the snapshot "To Alex, With Love, Jennifer Lopez."

"#TBT to almost 20 years ago when a big time global pop superstar signed a pic for a young ball player #lifecanbeafunnythingsometimes #pictureperfect #keepsake #jlo," Rodriguez captioned the post.

Lopez shared the same photo on her own account.

"Wow!! Had to repost!!! He found this cleaning out storage!!" she wrote.

Rodriguez and Lopez confirmed their relationship in March 2017. Rodriguez recalled meeting Lopez in an interview with The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April, calling it "the luckiest day" of his life.

"I turn around and I do not recognize this person," the star said. "And it's Jennifer, but she's dressed up as Harlee from Shades of Blue."

"She said, 'It's Jennifer.' I go, 'Oh my God, Jennifer, you look beautiful.' I was so embarrassed and then I got a little nervous," he recounted. "She says, 'You have my number, reach out.' And I went home that night and reached out."

Rodriguez is parent to two daughters, 13-year-old Natasha and 10-year-old Ella, with Cynthia Scurtis, while Lopez is parent to 10-year-old twins Emme and Max with Marc Anthony. The couple celebrated Lopez's birthday as a family in July.

Michael Keaton, Owen Wilson to star in two-part 'Documentary Now!' episode

Cars castmates Michael Keaton and Owen Wilson are set to co-star with Necar Zadegan in a two-part episode of IFC's Documentary Now!

Both chapters are scheduled to air back-to-back Feb. 20. Wilson will play a cult leader in 1980s Oregon, while Zadegan will be his assistant and Keaton portrays the FBI agent who tries to bring the enterprise down.

Documentary Now! was co-created by Fred Armisen, Bill Hader, Seth Meyers and Rhys Thomas. It is executive produced by Lorne Michaels.

"After years of trying to start a cult of our own, we have happily outsourced the heavy lifting to the brilliant team behind Documentary Now! and they have, as always, delivered," IFC Original Programming SVP Christine Lubrano said in a statement. "Seeing these episodes have caused the IFC staff to zealously follow the teachings of Owen Wilson."

Keaton is also known for his roles in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Birdman, Spotlight, Batman, Johnny Dangerously and Mr. Mom.

Wilson's credits include the Zoolander and Night at the Museum movies, as well as The Royal Tenenbaums and The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou.

Which British rock band will appear in a career-spanning documentary?

Coldplay will appear in a new, career-spanning documentary.

The Hollywood Reporter confirmed the group, fronted by singer Chris Martin, will recount its 20-year career in the Amazon Prime film A Head Full of Dreams.

A Head Full of Dreams will give an in-depth and intimate portrait of Coldplay's road to success. The film will show in theaters during a special, one-night event Nov. 14 before debuting Nov. 16 on Amazon Prime Video.

"Next month, Coldplay will release a new film called A Head Full Of Dreams, charting their two decades together so far," the group tweeted Friday alongside a trailer for the movie.

Supersonic director Matt Whitecross helmed the new documentary. Whitecross previously directed several of Coldplay's music videos, including "Paradise" and "A Sky Full of Stars."

Martin and Coldplay guitarist Jonny Buckland formed the band in 1996 and renamed the group Coldplay in 1998. The band released its debut studio album, Parachutes, in July 2000, which included the hit single "Yellow."

Coldplay released its seventh studio album, A Head Full of Dreams, in December 2015, and followed up with a live album the next year. The group's latest EP, Kaleidoscope, debuted in July 2017 as a companion piece to A Head Full of Dreams.
