*-- Save Your Damaged Hair Like a Celeb --*

With the colder seasons among us we're surrounded by pumpkin spice, falling leaves, and cooler air. It sounds relaxing after a long hot summer, but our hair doesn't always seem to share the same fall excitement that we do. And if your hair is anything like mine, it lashes out with extreme dehydration.

My hair often starts to feel dry and look damaged this time of the year so for quick remedies I am willing to try anything. To my surprise, the remedy to combat "winter hair" was right under my nose.

Here are four of the simplest, easiest, ways to repair and prevent ultra-damaged hair this season...

Limit extreme heat.

Put away your hair straightener and curling iron! Nothing is worse than consistently applying heat to your hair every day. Take a little break from your hot tools and try something a little more fun and creative like a "Top Knot". This simple knot isn't only a fun party up-do, but it's classic. So it's perfect to strut around the office.

Style smarter, not harder.

There are so many hot styling tools to choose from but it is so important to use ones that minimize breakage. If you're looking for an idea, nano and ceramic styling tools are going to be your best bet. These distribute even heat when styling so that you aren't keeping the irons on the hair longer to get the result you want.

Be picky with product.

If you really can't live without your hair straighteners, you have to add a styling spray or foam to your hair routine. These will help rehab any damaged strands and add extra moisture to your hair. Even something as simple as coconut oil or macadamia oil as a deep conditioner helps add life to your current "do".

Dye like an expert.

Take your hair step by step. Even if you get bored of your current hair color and want to change the color as quickly as the leaves are changing...DON'T! Dying your hair too much will result in excessive drying out. Do yourself a favor and don't lighten your hair lighter than two shades.
