We have all seen the generic and the store brand products displayed right next to the name brand versions in the grocery store aisles.
If you are like me you have an ingrained habit of reaching for the brand name product. We have been trained by decades of marketing to think that the brand names are better. In some cases they are, but there are certain products which make no sense to pay more for than you absolutely have to.
Below are just a few examples (the prices may vary at your local store).
