Cary Joji Fukunaga to direct 25th James Bond movie
True Detective Season 1 and Beasts of No Nation director Cary Joji Fukunaga is to helm the 25th James Bond movie.
Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, and current Bond portrayer Daniel Craig made the announcement Thursday on the franchise's website.
"We are delighted to be working with Cary. His versatility and innovation make him an excellent choice for our next James Bond adventure," Wilson and Broccoli said in a joint statement.
Filming is to begin at Britain's Pinewood Studios on March 4. The as-yet-untitled spy movie is set for release Feb. 14, 2020. It was initially scheduled to open in theaters in the fall of 2019.
Fukunaga will replace Trainspotting and Slumdog Millionaire director Danny Boyle, who left the project known only as Bond 25 last month.
Craig previously played the iconic secret agent James Bond 007 in Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall and Spectre.
Ryan Coogler to produce 'Space Jam 2' starring LeBron James
Filmmaker Ryan Coogler of Black Panther fame has signed on to produce a sequel to Space Jam featuring NBA star LeBron James in the lead role.
James' production company, SpringHill Entertainment, announced Coogler's involvement Wednesday on Instagram alongside an image of an empty locker room that had Coogler's name on display.
Lockers for James, Bugs Bunny and director Terence Nance (Random Acts of Flyness) were also featured.
Warner Bros. is set to begin production on Space Jam 2 in 2019 during the NBA off-season, noted The Hollywood Reporter.
The original Space Jam, released in 1996, featured basketball great Michael Jordan teaming up with Bugs Bunny and the rest of the Looney Tunes crew to defeat a group of enhanced aliens at a game of basketball. Other NBA stars and Bill Murray also appeared in the film.
"The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie," James said in a statement. "It's so much bigger. I'd just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don't just give up on their dreams. And I think Ryan did that for a lot of people."
Justin Lin, known for directing four Fast and Furious films, was first in talks to direct Space Jam 2 and remains as an executive producer.

Kaley Cuoco on ending 'Big Bang Theory': 'So heartbreaking'
Kaley Cuoco discussed how she would like The Big Bang Theory to conclude and how it felt when the cast decided to end the series while appearing on The Late Late Show.
"I would like the elevator to get fixed," Cuoco joked on Wednesday in reference to how the characters on the show are always forced to use the stairs in their apartment complex.
"The stairs have gotten more and more exhausting as our seasons have gone on," she continued.
The Big Bang Theory is set to end with Season 12 which premieres on CBS on Monday, Sept. 24 at 8 p.m. ET before the show moves back to its regular Thursday time slot at 8 p.m. ET on Sept. 27.
"It was definitely tough," Cuoco said about deciding with her castmates that Season 12 would be the last season. "There was not a dry eye in the room, a lot of hysterical sobs," she continued.
"It wouldn't have mattered when it ended, we all would have been completely devastated," Cuoco said. "It's time now, I guess, to move onto other things, which is so heartbreaking."
Joel McHale also appeared on the The Late Late Show Wednesday and he, Cuoco and host James Corden played a round of The Bold and the Lyrical using lyrics from rapper Drake. The segment involved the trio acting in a dramatic soap opera with every line of dialogue consisting of lyrics from Drake.
