Robert De Niro in talks to join cast of 'Joker' origin film
Robert De Niro is being eyed to star in DC and Warner Bros. upcoming Joker origin film starring Joaquin Phoenix as the iconic Batman villain.

De Niro is in negotiations to join the project as a talk-show host who plays a role in Phoenix becoming the Joker, Deadline reported.

This would be De Niro's first role in a comic book film.

Joker is being directed by Todd Phillips (The Hangover, War Dogs) based on a script he co-wrote with Scott Silver. The project, set for release on Oct. 4, 2019, is described as being a gritty character study and a cautionary tale.

The film will reportedly be set in Gotham City in the early 1980s, noted The Hollywood Reporter.

Zazie Beetz, who recently starred in Fox's Deadpool 2, is also in negotiations to join Joker as a single mother who catches the eye of Phoenix.

Joker will take place outside of DC's extended film universe and would help launch a new DC Comics banner at Warner Bros. that will allow the studio to tell unique comic book stories using different actors in the title roles. Production is set to begin in September in New York.

Elisabeth Shue to star in TNT pilot 'Constance'
TNT announced Monday it ordered a drama pilot called Constance, starring Elisabeth Shue and produced by Robert Downey Jr. and his wife Susan Downey.

"Constance is a fun, darkly humorous, veneer-stripping story about one woman's refusal to fade into obsolescence," a synopsis from the cable network said. "It follows former beauty queen turned small town bureaucrat, Constance Young, whose life is thrown into turmoil after her husband's mysterious death. Realizing she and her family are on the verge of financial ruin, Constance turns to cooking the books at City Hall, while simultaneously trying to reinvent herself through the hyper-competitive world of direct-sales cosmetics."

Shue's credits include the films The Karate Kid, Adventures in Babysitting, Cocktail, two Back to the Future movies, Soapdish, Leaving Las Vegas, Battle of the Sexes and Death Wish. She also was a longtime cast member of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Another pilot TNT green-lit Monday was Beast Mode, written and executive produced by David Schneiderman. It is inspired by the life of boxing trainer Ann Wolfe.

No casting for that project has been announced yet.

"Constance and Beast Mode exist in two radically different worlds, one of cosmetics and crime, and the other of elite boxing, but both pilots are about complicated, empowered women who are incredible forces of nature," Sarah Aubrey, executive vice president of original programming for TNT, said in a statement. "Their passion and ambition, mixed with a healthy dose of craziness, make them unforgettable characters that our viewers will love."

TNT announced earlier this month it renewed its shows Claws and Animal Kingdom.

Prince Harry, Elton John attend AIDS conference in Amsterdam
British royal Prince Harry and music superstar Elton John attended an AIDS conference together in Amsterdam.

Kensington Palace said Tuesday the 33-year-old duke of Sussex and 71-year-old singer and musician helped launch the MenStar coalition at the 2018 International AIDS Conference.

John's Elton John AIDS Foundation worked with Johnson & Johnson and several other partners to raise over $1.2 billion in initial planned funding for the coalition, according to a Johnson & Johnson press release.

"Preparing for #AIDS2018 Plenary Session with @EltonOfficial - where The Duke and Sir Elton will launch the MenStar coalition, which will expand the diagnoses and treatment of HIV infections in men, with the aim of ultimately ending the AIDS epidemic by 2030," Kensington Palace captioned a photo of Harry with John.

Harry praised John, a longtime family friend, during a speech at the conference. John previously worked with the prince's late mom, Princess Diana, to bring awareness to HIV/AIDS and AIDS prevention.

"I am honored to be sharing the stage with someone who has always put people at the center of his work -- Sir Elton John," Harry said, according to Entertainment Tonight.

"For over a quarter of a century, Elton has worked tirelessly to fund research and services in communities around the world. And today, he has come to Amsterdam to announce his latest endeavor, a billion-dollar global partnership to break the cycle of male transmission of HIV."

Harry lauded the MenStar coalition as an "energetic and innovative" solution to the AIDS epidemic.

"New, energetic and innovative solutions are needed more than ever before -- and that is exactly what you are about to see from @eltonofficial and the Men Star Coalition partners," he said, according to Kensington Palace.

MenStar will provide HIV/AIDS services for men with the goal of increasing earlier uptake of testing, treatment and achievement of viral suppression.

??? Guess Who ???

Which 'That '70s Show' star blames herself for the 'horrible' split from Macaulay Culkin?

Mila Kunis says she's to blame for her "horrible" split from Macaulay Culkin.

The 34-year-old actress said on Monday's episode of the Armchair Expert with Dax Shepard podcast that she ended things poorly with the 37-year-old actor.

"I had a horrible breakup. Horrible, horrible, horrible breakup," Kunis told host Dax Shepard.

"I was an [expletive] in my 20s, and I'll be the first to admit it," she said. "And that's something that took me a long time to come out and be like, 'Yeah, you know what, I ... accept it and I own it now.'"

Kunis didn't specify how the split happened, but regrets how she ended the relationship.

"When I got to be single I said, 'I just need to figure myself out. I genuinely need to know why I did what I did, and, like regroup myself as a human being,'" the star recalled.

Kunis and Culkin split in 2011 after eight years of dating. Kunis has since married her former That '70s Show co-star Ashton Kutcher, while Culkin is dating former The Suite Life on Deck star Brenda Song.

"I'm with a lady right now and she is so good to me," Culkin said of Song during an episode of the Anna Faris is Unqualified podcast in March.

"She just does nice things, and I feel like at first I didn't know how to be treated well in that kind of way. It was a strange, almost foreign concept. So that kind of thing ... I realize it is important to me," he added.

Kunis and Kutcher married in July 2015. The couple are parents to 3-year-old daughter Wyatt Isabelle and 18-month-old son Dimitri Portwood.
