Hello Animal lovers,

I have to admit, when seeing today's video I almost panicked! What were these people doing? Petting and playing with a cute little platypus. don't they know that they are the only known venomous mammal?? It's true, there isn't a single mammal that can sting bite or inject you with poison outside of the platypus.

It was only after some research that I learned that only the males have poison barbs on their hind legs as a defensive measure. So I think it's safe to assume that this platypus is a lady, and no one is in real danger!
