Hello Animal Lovers,

Hummingbirds are the smallest of all our feathered friends, so they are just so darn cute! It’s wonderful to watch this video of a rescued hummingbird. It was found abandoned and dehydrated so the vet is hand-feeding fluids to this calm little bird.

Hummingbirds are awesome - did you know they can flap their wings up to 200 times a second? That clocks them into going up to 24 miles per hour. They are supposed to consume more than their whole weight in hector in order to get enough energy for that rapid wing flapping, but they can slow their metabolism when necessary to allow for dry spells. It’s neat stuff!
