Hello Music lovers,
When I was in 7th grade, everyone in the class had to memorize a poem. Like most of the class, I wasn't particularly looking forward to memorizing and reciting just about anything, but I had an idea.
Shel Silverstein wrote this poem called A Boy Named Sue. Johnny Cash got his hands on it, and made a studio recording with his own arrangement. So I listened to that over and over, and it really helped and I was able to memorize it in no time at all.
Cash performed it plenty of times, including at the historical San Quentin Prison show. Today's clip is from the Tom Jones Show in 1969. It's silly, but a sure classic!
Enjoy!
