*** A WORD FROM THE KITCHEN ***
With Halloween being on a weekend again this year
there are sure to be many more fun activities for
both kiddies and adults. Believe it or not I actually
have a recipe for leftover halloween candy! We're on
a very wide corner and don't get a lot to our door
so lots of snicker bars for us keeps the dentist in
business. Well here it is CANDY BAR SMOOTHIES. The
flavor possibilities are endless and no reason to wait
for Halloween to give them a try.And don't tell the
kids but you could toss an extra bag of unopened candy
in the freezer to store for a while too.
Enjoy!

HEALTHIER HALLOWEEN TREAT ALTERNATIVES
Is it ironic that October is also Dental Hygene month?
It's scary what excessive candy can do to your kids
health and teeth. Well put aside your fears about being
the not-so-cool parents on the block and try passing out
some of these healthier treats:
Sugarless gum
Corn nuts, peanuts, or trail mix
Small individual bags of pretzels or popcorn
Packages of sugar-free cocoa
Pre-packed cheese and crackers
Hand out party favors or special pencils/erasers.
It's a good idea to give your kids a nutritious meal
before they go trick-or-treating. This will prevent
sugar highs and nasty upset tummies!
